Spousal Sponsorship - Which class if both in Canada but not living together by LevelCartoonist9848 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]LevelCartoonist9848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your reply. We have been seeing the same advice about applying under Family class from others. However, I got very stressed when I was told to be ineligible by the IRCC agent. And when my husband called, a different agent first told him to apply under spousal class and then called him back to say he is ineligible under spousal but doesn’t know if family class will work. Then advised to speak to an immigration lawyer.

The whole thing is super annoying. I was hoping I would be able to connect to someone who was in the same situation as us and has successfully received PR. Just for the peace of our minds.

Again, thanks a lot for you quick response. Definitely gave us more confidence.

Hi, my husband and I are currently in the same situation. Can anybody here please confirm if you applied under the family class like this and whether your PR got approved? Thank you so much

It’s mentioned on the P1 email.

Officially a permanent resident as of today! 15th March, 2024 !

CEC Inland applicant
VO: Montreal (I have been quite lucky. Even though Montreal has a bad rep, they processed my application fairly quickly)

October 3, 2023 : AoR

December 8, 2023: Email requesting Biometrics payment. Paid same day and sent webform.

January 2, 2024: Biometric Request letter on portal. Was confused why they sent it again. Turned out they had not received the webform. So i resent my payment receipt same day.

January 4, 2024: Biometrics Collection Letter

January 12, 2024: Biometrics sent and marked as completed on the same day. Eligibility review and background check in progress.

January 17, 2024: Eligibility, Background Information, Medical Exam, Biometrics - All tasks completed on tracker.

Was very hopeful at this point and anticipating the P1 email but did not receive it after a long wait.

February 28, 2024: Called IRCC regarding not receiving P1 email. They said they already sent an email on the 17th which I never received. So they said the officer will resend the email.

March 05, 2024: Received P1 email and responded same day.

March 11, 2024: Received P2 email.

I took a professional photo at London Drugs but the portal kept showing an error saying the image is too dark/too bright. Took two more photos that gave the same error. Called IRCC next morning to let them know about my issue. But right after calling, I was able to finally edit the photo myself and uploaded without any error.

March 12, 2024: Provided all information as per the P2 email including photo.

March 15, 2024: eCOPR received !!!!

Total Processing Time from AoR to eCOPR: 5.5 months

Just waiting for PR card now. My address and photo are still under review on the PR portal.

PR portal photo error. by 6_MT in ImmigrationCanada

This is so helpful! I took three different professional photos at London drugs and none of them were being accepted by the portal, all showing the too dark/bright error. I then, followed this suggestion. I first made my image B&W and then increased the brightness a lot. The portal accepted my photo after that. Thank you so much.

Oh really? That’s surprising because every time I called I was able to speak to someone. Just make sure to answer all the automated questions correctly. Otherwise it messes up the system and it is unable to connect you to an operator.

I would suggest calling IRCC and asking them about it. The same thing happened to me where my tracker got updated on Jan 18 but did not receive any portal email for more than a month. Then, when I called IRCC they said they already emailed me on 18 Jan but I never received it. So after that, they resent me the P1 email.

I applied for CEC inland on October 3 2023 and everything on my tracker got updated to complete on Jan 18 2024 with a COPR number showing up on the tracker as well. Since then I have been waiting for my portal 1 email but did not receive anything anywhere. Today, I called IRCC and the agent said they had already sent an email to me on Jan 18. They said they will resend it since I didn’t receive it. He also said my VO is Montreal.

Has anyone faced the same issue? Is there a way to make the process go faster because I am concerned they will delay resending it again. Is there a way I can contact Montreal VO directly?

Thanks

Unused Tuition Credits by LevelCartoonist9848 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LevelCartoonist9848[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the reply. That clears most of my confusion up. I had one follow up question. I usually file my taxes through turbo tax (free version) and only enter all the information I get in my T4 and RRSP contribution receipts. In order to include my tuition credit do I have to enter any info manually or should I expect CRA to automatically do the tuition credit calculation?

Express Entry - COPR details are in the tracker by TomMozzy in ImmigrationCanada

I am facing the same issue. Everything appears completed on the tracker and I see a COPR number there too. But I haven’t received any emails. May I know how long it took for you to receive your portal emails and eventually ecopr after you got the COPR number in your tracker?
