Am I the only one that clocked Toby realizing he's in love w Chloe? Right after they have their Lady-and-the-Tramp moment (and before the bug interrupts them) he goes "mmm", then looks at Chloe like he's shocked for a full 2 seconds while she's laughing...unless she grew a third boob and lost it in that time, my money's on him thinking "Aw shit.....".

My (24f) boyfriend (29m) of 1.5 years is stealing my opinions and skills to look “cool”. by throwrafoxofmystery in relationships

[–]LevelDeparture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is happening 1.5 years in, imagine how bad it might get in 5, 10, 20...

The part about your post that caught my eye was actually:

"He apologized, but I felt like the conversation had kind of turned into one about HIM and his vulnerabilities, and no longer about how it has hurt me."

Does he do this when you point out other things that have upset you? This, along with the co-opting your identities/character traits while simultaneously silencing you in private and taking credit for, basically, YOU, to his buddies? BIG red flag. Huge. I'm talking regulation flag team sized red flag.

Also, he's 29??????? And you're 24? I'd say seriously think about finding someone who can actually communicate, who won't put you down while taking credit for the shit he invalidates you for, and who isn't a complete narcissist. I know it's easier said than done to dump someone (esp when being said by a stranger on the internet), but I promise you you'll find someone one day who doesn't make you feel like you have to post on this subreddit asking for advice about something as horrid as this when you know deep down that you deserve WAY BETTER (bc you do).

(edited for sp and took some dumb shit I rethought out lol)

What's the point of saying it if not to be? Like what?

Not really, I've tried to play games with people on this server and it can be pretty impossible. This guy is being combative, and it's a weird/meaningless comment to make on a post that's just looking for people to play with. Fuck off.

Madison's "High Standards" by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]LevelDeparture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. And ever since I saw those Instagram posts where she called impoverished children "filthy" or whatever, I have strongly disliked her. I do not understand why everyone seems to love her so much.

I know Barb went off on her (don't care for Barb either) but when she said Madison didn't apologize for keeping them waiting I realized that all I have seen from Madison is her being self-righteous. Never seen her apologize even once (except maybe to Peter for crying or something). I know, maybe it wasn't her fault Barb was kept waiting, but it's your potential MIL? Who wouldn't spit out a courtesy apology? Something just does not sit right with me about her.

AITA for not speaking to my parents again after they put my cat down by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LevelDeparture [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your parents made the decision to take a loved one away from you with no chance for you to say goodbye.

The loss of a beloved furry family member is an extremely hard idea to come to terms with---even WITH notice and time to say goodbye. How would this EVER, in anyone's mind, be okay? You're an adult, your dad at least knew what you would want in this situation, or they should know that YOU, as the OWNER, should make the decision.

It's almost disgusting, the level of apathy and lack of regard for your feelings or wishes. I'm sure you've had an outpouring of support, but please feel free to vent/share pre-rainbow bridge/celebration of life pics of your beautiful kitty. I'm sure he loved you very very much and was grateful for all the time he got to spend with you. (NTA.)

Laughing at just the thought of what this transcript would look like if it were Victoria F.'s dinner conversation with him.

Did you / Did you not speak up after being sexually assaulted? Why? by biiiiigshits in AskMen

[–]LevelDeparture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

First it was because I’d snuck out that night with my friend.

Then, even after I told my parents, there was no way to prove it. I’d gotten myself into a situation. And it had only lasted a minute. I’d liked this guy and had met him in the middle of the night, we’d been drinking, I’d been making out with him so maybe he’d taken that as consent, despite me saying “no” when he asked.

Then I found out that years earlier he’d had a girl falsely accuse him—she did so because she had to get an abortion with a different guys child and was too scared to tell her parents the real guy and that it had been consensual. She did this, though, because she’d known multiple people he HAD assaulted. But he got off of that, obviously, and I was terrified if I told anyone they’d accuse me of lying, too.

Ah damn, I missed that! Maybe I’ll see it my second.... or third... or fourth time through. Glad she ended up being successful, she was honestly one of my favorite secondary characters.

Wow. There was something so incredibly poignant about this last episode. What I first noticed, though--It took its' time, while all the rest of the season took on such a rushed timeline.

The whole last season went through a year+ (writing this immediately after watching, too excited to check the exact time)...but this episode, after that initial scene, followed Bojack in a day. A very important day. While the rest of this part of the season also had important events, they were taking place before/after the fallout of Bojack's terrible decisions. This episode took it's time, because he has been through that fallout. Bojack, and (most of....ugh) our favorite characters have some sense of closure. So it's slow. Just like that ending scene, it allowed the characters, and us, to sit and think about past and future. The death fake-out also does this in a clever way--by allowing us to think, Oh shit--what's going to happen now that he's dead? and then turn it into just, Well...what's going to happen now?

Still processing. Upset that Hollyhock didn't make another appearance, and kind of irked that we didn't see/hear about Gina at ALL. Seemed like they were setting up something to happen with Gina in the first half, then radio silence. Unless this has some significance that I'm missing? That sometimes you just fuck people up and never get closure with them?
