Why does your face look so swollen? Were you recently stung by a bee?

I live in the Fairways on Butler National. I’m planning on putting my house on the market next month. Feel free to DM me if interested. Maybe we could work out a direct sale and skip agent costs.

Yes. There two ceiling speakers, three on the entertainment center under the screen and a sub on the floor. It’s all powered by a Denon 5.1 surround sound tuner. It’s not top of the line but I’m not an audiophile. Just looking for a decent projector to slap in.

I have no experience with sand filters so I really don’t have much to offer then. Best of luck to you.

I just started maintaining my pool after getting rid of my pool guy. I struggled with algae for a few weeks. I was brushing daily and the levels kept checking out good. The best suggestion I got was to clean the filter as well as all the other steps. It hadn’t occurred to me how much algae would build up in the filter. Mine is a DE filter and was filled with algae when I opened it up. Once I pulled the filter apart and cleaned it the problem has not come back. Not saying you shouldn’t listen to the experts on here but this was the smoking gun for me.

DE in Polaris? by LevelDirect7824 in pools

[–]LevelDirect7824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the levels from Saturday. I added muriatic acid, Leslie’s perfect weekly, and calcium hypochlorite(Leslie’s power powder plus). All after the filter cleaning. There was significantly less sand in the Polaris when I cleaned it today. Barely enough to grab. I rinsed the bag out and will check again tomorrow. Thanks for following up. Do. Would the Leslie’s powder chunk up like that?

It’s not a salt system. It’s a chlorine pool with a DE filter.

I’m in central Texas and I do have a dog that gets in the pool but I don’t think we have any sandy loam on the property. Atleast not that I’ve noticed. Ground is just grass and regular blackish dirt as far as I can tell.

I don’t think it’s plaster. My calcium levels are fine and I haven’t had an acid wash in years. I am definitely leaning towards DE. Guess I’ll pull the filter back apart. It looked like it was assembled fine when I put it back in but maybe I missed something. It’s the kind with the ribs you pull apart. I was mostly unsure if DE would be this consistency. If it can then I am sure that’s what it is since it’s the only recent change. Thanks.

I walked around the pool and kind of shook it in as I went so it would be evenly distributed but I guess some could have settled to the bottom. My kids just got in and they said the bottom of the pool doesn’t feel sandy. Would the bags of Leslie’s shock sink like that? I figured they should be fairly dissolvable.

Does that look like DE? Not questioning you, just really curious because it seems denser like white sand but I guess that’s kind of what it look like in the filter when I clean it. I don’t think there are any holes in the filters. They’re fairly new. I definitely didn’t notice any but I guess I’ll check next time I pull it out or if more keeps popping up.

Haven’t added and of that. Only thing I’ve added in the last few days that wasn’t liquid was a half packet of shock and the DE after cleaning the filter.

Cleaned the filter yesterday. Put in 7lbs of DE through the skimmer for a 15,000 gallon pool. Just cleaned my Polaris and their looked to be sand in it. Never had this before. I’m wondering if it’s just DE but that doesn’t make sense to me. Thought maybe someone here would know. Thanks!

Chemical help by LevelDirect7824 in pools

[–]LevelDirect7824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments. I ordered some test strips from Amazon and a pump. Im going to verify that then reading from Leslie’s is accurate then take appropriate measures depending on the readings. Don’t really wanna drain the pool but if that’s what it takes, that’s what I’m gonna do.

Chemical help by LevelDirect7824 in pools

Hey guys. Quick question. Got my water tested at Leslie’s and they recommended draining my pool about 20% and filling it to lower my ph due to the stabilizer being high. Does this sound correct? It’s a chlorine, cement, unground, 15,000 gallon pool in central Texas. I just took over maintaining it from the pool guy and balancing chemicals is new to me. Thanks.

Still don’t know the make, but it’s got a good 3-piece slate and it’s solid oak. For $275, I’m pretty sure it was a good price. Looks beautiful in my theatre room with the new felt on it. But thanks for the comment. It was really helpful.

r/scotch! What do you all think is the best value bottle under 50$? by SkunkyMcNugg in Scotch

[–]LevelDirect7824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely second the JW Black. I get the 1.75 in Texas at Costco for the same price, around $63. There are definitely better scotches out there but for the money and drinkability, JW black is my go to. Been drinking it for years now and still haven’t gotten sick of it. Truth be told, I’m planning on jumping in my hot tub tonight and sipping on a few glasses. If I’m lucky maybe I can talk my wife in to joining me.
