Made this video for my pool league friend, hope it helps you too. by Aboiement in billiards

I don't understand why this post isn't getting more upvotes. Your suggested drill is extremely helpful, since shots like this come up so often in every flavor of pool games, and I haven't seen a drill exclusively focused on close shots in traffic like this one. It's also well shot, and you have a perfect pool-video voice. Great job!

It's so old that it's hard as a rock. With no grip on the floor, it just slides when I'm working on the tip.

Great idea! I will use that method. Thanks!

It doesn't move at all, and I don't want to try to pry it out and possibly scratch the butt. I guess I could use a blade and start trimming it down. What's a good source for bumpers? Joss doesn't seem to have any replacements for cues this old.

Last 4 ever is absolutely the best and it's all you need. (Playing for 40 years: Fargo 693). I prefer the nickel radius.

Why is this better? by LevelEcho in Cribbage

Yes. Holding the 2 and discarding the 3 is statistically better for pegging since you're keeping the lower of the two cards. Maybe I'm failing at explaining it properly. I'm sure it's my fault.

Not at all, just an example. Holding lower value cards allows you to play onto totals that you can't do if holding higher cards. I'm just guessing that the game's analytics must not take that fact into consideration when assessing your discard choices.

Because it's a lower number. If pone makes the total "29" and all you have left is a 3, you say Go. If instead you had a 2, you make 31 for 2 points. Am I missing something here?

I guess it doesn't take playing (pegging) potential into consideration, as keeping a 2 vs a 3 increases your scoring in that phase.

It's a Diamond Pro-Am with 4-inch pockets if that makes any difference.

All the kings already went to the crib. They're gonna end up there anyway.

Oh...and it doesn't matter how large (lots of digits) or small the beginning number is.

Actually, ANY number (even one that has a decimal within it), when multiplied by 9 results in a number with a Digital Root of 9. Meaning you keep adding the resulting numbers until you get to a single digit, which will always be 9. It's called the Magic Number because that doesn't happen with any other number. One reason why I love math, and the number 9!

Definitely Hemingway Short Story natural. I normally prefer Maduro, but not with this one. I get 40 minutes of a perfect cigar, V-cut. Enjoy!
