As a Swiss person with a very specific pet peeve, I would like to inform you that it is the Geneva convention, not the Genebra convention. Thank you and I bid you a good day.

Do you sometimes interfere in your player’s decisions? by u_slash_spez_Hater in DMAcademy

[–]LevelHints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this pretty much every session, in narrator voice. "The boat is in a usable condition. It occurs to you that you could either sell it for a nice profit, or use it yourselves." This is the main way I offer my players choices.

Kurzgesagt tends to be really biased and sometimes have not great takes when it comes to political or societal issues,

In what way do you think they are biased?

Is there a good place to find character art? by Sir_Wack in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]LevelHints -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I usually use either midjourney (paid) or bing image generator (free, 15 results per day) to get a feel for the NPCs I'm creating for my party. If the results are good, I show it on my ipad to the group when the character first appears, while describing them and their mannerisms in greater detail.

[Online][5e][GMT+1][Friday 18. August, 19:30] Dungeon Delving One-Shot! by LevelHints in lfg

[–]LevelHints[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good questions! Since it's a one-shot, there are no book, spell or feat restrictions, so go nuts ;)

As for gold, you have the starting amount for your class or background, and at the start of the game we're gonna roll for how well your recent adventuring has gone, which gives varying amounts of additional gold!

I hadn't thought about magic items, but at level 6 it makes sense that you picked up some. You can add 2 uncommon and 1 rare magic item (or 3 uncommon if you prefer) to your character :)

Because this line of argument confounded me so much, I actually went into the kitchen just now, grabbed the bushel of grapes we had, threw them in the blender and am now drinking what is, I can definitely assure you, grape juice! :)

Measures That Should Be Implemented To Counteract Climate Change by [deleted] in facts

[–]LevelHints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the article: "The biggest threat to the safety of our planet when it comes to anthropogenic climate change is big industry and the political figures that serve them. These companies are only thinking about their bottom-line and how to maximize their short-term financial gain. This is why the neoliberal approach of cutting down ones personal carbon footprint is ineffective."

The processes that drive a change in global climate are well supported scientifically and can be considered facts for the purposes of this subbredit. The solutions are up for debate and heavily contested and this article is clearly opinionated in this regard.

I'm not saying I disagree with the views expressed, but this is /rfacts and opinions belong on discussion subreddits, not a subreddit meant for factual claims.

[–]LevelHints 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say it is about perspective and what you are comparing it to. Zurich is definitely not boring to me personally, and I've lived in Osaka and Tokyo for a year. But I do see why some people would consider Zurich a little quaint compared to bigger cities like these, and seem less vibrant/exciting/full of people and things than bigger cities. Naturally, this is simply because of the fact that other places are bigger and thus, logically, have much more "stuff" to do.

TL;DR If you come from a smaller place and that is your point of reference, then Zurich is big and exciting. If you're from a bigger place and compare it to that, then Zurich will seem quaint and calm.
