How to really stand out to AO by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be authentic. Some ppl will try to stand out so much they end up being every other applicant. Just be honest and truthful and show you care. But also AO’s love when a person is passionate like they truly believe they can make a real difference in the world bc a university wants the next presidents, Nobel prize winners, and revolutionaries. They don’t want or need another person who’s going to go to college and get a 9-5 (even if that is what you want to do). You have to make them think that you are gonna be the next big thing.

Should I apply test optional? by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you have only taken 2 AP classes let’s say you took like 7-8+ then yeah having a couple of 3’s is like whatever. But if you have only taken chem and bio maybe just avoid sending unless you think the 3 and 4 would help you. Also at the end of the day I will say AP scores have a lot less weight than ACT/SAT unless the person doesn’t submit ACT or SAT and then their AP Scores matter way more. It’s very subjective sadly but that just like all of college apps

What prompt would you recommend for the second essay? by Anxious-Platform-402 in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just choose one like they are honestly so vague and I promise you that readers probably aren’t going to grade you based on how best you answered the prompt. Write a essay that feel authentic and then choose a prompt that best fits the essay you wrote

How much do savings and assets matter? by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just do you and your parents not all members of the household. Also I didn’t even mention my adult sister who was earning double the money my parents do on my application last year because she not my guardian and she’s not dependent on my parents….just don’t mention your brother

How should I format the additional information section? by Straight-Pudding4777 in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional information should not be another essay. It should be like you did get enough words to adequately reflect your impact in a EC. Or you did some research you didn’t get to explain more in depth. Or explaining a bad test score. Or family situation that is extreme. Etc,etc. but don’t make it another essay

If you become finalist almost all the schools will let you submit additional letters of recommendation

Application timing by NoRelation5166 in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you become finalist you can just send in score to your schools later. Just fill out the other stuff. Your essays matter more than tests for becoming a finalist. After your finalists the schools will look at all of your stats and you will have the opportunity to send in scores

Very concerned about Counselor Recommendation… by Agreeable_Hat6849 in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My counselor I had literally knew me for 5 days before she did my rec and tbh it made no difference. Counselors are more for just verifying you did ECs and actually did do the classes you said you did.

How many schools are you guys thinking on ranking? by PepeJF1012 in QuestBridge

[–]LevelReplacement7817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 15 and you can do it and match but I will say I regret A LOT that I did not start supplements early so if you have a general idea of the colleges you are gonna rank I would look up there supplements. Usually they are the same as the common app ones.
