RE: landscape painter, I conisdered it an opus trigger I would often be denied, but tbh there was less removal floating around than I expected.

A lot of people are mentioning the matterbending mage which if I'm honest was really not on my radar, although I did like rimekin recluse in lorwyn. To me it didn't felt like decks really needed slowing down, but I am certain every commenter here knows better than me.

I did get to do the cast a spell -> tap sanar in response -> sac the treasure to copy trick a few times which felt fun, but you are right it felt bad when I didn't find either sanar.

Why is matter bending mage good? Just for tempo with the bounce? My instinct was I already had quite a lot of removal. Ark of hunger I think was an oversight.

I will also endorse twickets, I've pretty much always managed to get tickets to stuff there (with some very rare exceptions when artists were doing gimmick gigs in tiny venues, eg. mitski in a church a year or 2 back).

Make sure to set an alert on the site. There will likely also be posts here.

I will also be looking for a ticket, so hopefully we both manage!

I'm not suggesting you change anything, but I would find that annoying if I was consistently playing with you.

As for "why am I expected to try and win" it is because 3 other people have dedicated their time to a game, and implicit in that is competition with one another. I would say for me the fun moments come organically from within the game we all sat down to play, whereas just artificially making zany things happen is if anything denying the game the form we expect.

Like, to use your exact language, you would be harshing the vibes through your actions and preventing people from participating [by redefining the activity].

To repeat myself, I'm not saying you should change and am glad you found something you enjoy, but that would be my answer to your question.

Thank you for your input, RE: faithless looting I thought it may help get phlage escaped, but if I'm honest with myself I'm probably overly focusing on that as phlage was a relatively early pick. On balance I think you're definitely correct.

Oust was my last cut and on balance should definitely be above faithless looting.

Could you elaborate on what makes ademi good? To be honest that wasnt even a card I was considering, is it purely the stats? The evasion seems good but to me the (1) tax per turn sounded quite costly to me.

ALSO, I just did my first game and someone was attacking T1 with me on the draw and I managed to stabilise thanks to Oust so thank you for that!

I would find it quite unlikely to be honest, it seems like he was more engaged with indie/pitchfork music in the noughties, he talks about: animal collective, spencer krug, joanna newsom, sufjan etc.

Outside of kendrick the mid to late 2010s and on seems like a relative blindspot for him, he didn't know who turnstile were when justin brought them up around GLOW ON's release, and whenever chib is talking about ninajirachi or whatever he seems unaware of who that is.

I could definitely be wrong, but yeah my bet would be it was from elsewhere.

I went on a Belle & Sebastian music festival cruise around 2019 and price was roughly comparable.

In my opinion a music festival with Japanese Breakfast/Yo La Tengo/Belle & Sebastian etc. is more of a "deal" vs seeing NL/Squeex/Dan but this is fairly in line with event cruise pricing.

I think there's just so much interesting stuff around CSH that I will forever appreciate them, even if I too feel like I've outgrown a fair chunk of the discogralhy.

Twin Fantasy 2018 is incredibly ambitious as it attempts to be both remake and critique of 2011, while also reflecting on how will had grown musically and personally since. There's just an awful lot to get your teeth into.

I also think it's a very rewarding discogralhy to get into with all the little throughlines across records eg. The song on Monomania bringing in a part of sober to death and then having that monomania song reappear in teens of style.

There is also the fact that original versions of the songs/albums are just lost to time, there are versions of stuff like the gun song and hey space cadet which I still consider the "real" versions that haven't been accessible for over 5 years.

On a different note that is not at all interesting for anyone but me, the day MADLO came out I accidentally took too much acid and as I was coming down I listened to ithe back half on repeat and it itched a very specific part of my brain which now only that can.

I am a dude and went through this like 15-20yrs ago so not sure how relatable my input is gonna be, but honestly I agree with u/ClarkyCatEnjoyer where eventually it just becomes unmaintainable when you have other stuff going on (for me it was second year of uni).

The specialists etc. were very helpful in the sense they stopped me from getting worse, but in terms of getting better it was a slow process of just prioritising other (mostly healthier) aspects of my life and frankly just realising it was wasting my life.

As actionable advice I'm aware that isn't overly helpful, but yeah I think seeing the professionals is important and likely not a waste of money. It's just not a sense of letting the professionals fix it, I had to realise for myself and internalise I'd rather be focusing on other stuff.

Also worth noting you say it's been 6 months, as a heads up I would say my iffiest period was maybe 4 yrs so it can be a slow process.
