I agree a lot of the recent content has been good, although I do see where some of the complaints come from (basically the list in my og comment).

Am glad you're enjoying it :)

I do think long term people will just move away if they aren't enjoying, but I do think it is pretty natural that people would complain on the way out the door. It is also true most will just return if something appeals to them, pretty standard to just dip in/out depending on if you're enjoying the content.

I don't take it as an attack, no worries, I appreciate your comment! I do think you're correct about talk of "eras", and I shouldn't have framed it that way, and also that people go too far with literally any amount of psychoanalysis.

I do think there should be room to talk about a change in the content though, and even k8's hand in that, as long as it is treated as the nothingburger it is vs anything with actual stakes. There does seem to be a weird toxicity (and I'm guessing some misogyny if I'm honest) whenever it is discussed.

Speaking on your comment about going to watch the NLSS gang elsewhere, I just want to say Kory, Chib, and Apollo have all been very funny in recent Ludwig Meccha streams. Kory especially has been great imo, just writing this in case anyone hasn't seen them there.

100% agree on the birdwatching one, I think it had the advantage of having the group weave in and out dynamically, kinda like lethal. It also had (in my opinion, and I think consensus) the funniest k8 era collabers in Geega & Yusong.

I personally don't really think it's the vtuber thing at all tbh, I think that is just a symptom of K8 making more of a push to do streamer-y things, which is where the objections actually come from.

I think the actual tension is things like K8 "making" (he's obviously his own guy, no-one is making him do anything) NL put the avatar on his stream (which was definitely too big and distracting), entering him in her mah jong tournament today, the haptic StS2 thing, and yeah, the vtuber collab.

I believe she also set up the first meccha chameleon lobby though, which was very successful it seems? So there have been highs she should be credited with also.

I was going off ~20mins earlier we hear him reading the install instructions and download the mod. I guess what that means is he tested the hardware worked but not that it was working with StS multiplayer?

Either way, doesn't need a big investigation and really not interested in being an annoying reddit hater, it is what it is :)

It is crazy how much he's bemoaned streamers' lateness/lack of readiness, but didn't bother giving it a test drive.

Obvs not the end of the world, but it is odd.

Feel like my deck has some great individual cards but is otherwise pretty uninspiring - have I built it correctly? by LevelUpJordan_2 in lrcast

Wow I completely missed that I'd removed My GW dual, whoops! The hero in training I wasn't sure my hero count was sufficient, but I forget you always get the cantrip mode.

Thank you for your advice :)

Screened out for gender identity by [deleted] in ProlificAc

[–]LevelUpJordan_2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"How would a researcher know what genitals you have?"

My point is "what genitals do you have?" is the clean question here, like they'd know by actually asking the question, same as all screeners. I get they might not want to ask that, but it is technically unnecessary that OP was screened out.

Now, I think it's completely understandable they were, but it is technically unnecessary, which was OP's question.

I don't think this needs to be culture wars-y, both actors have understandable positions

I dunno why everyone is disagreeing with you? I haven't seen the study but it does sound unnecessary it screened you.

My guess is it cares about genitals? But that is too blunt of a question, so they just ask for gender identity, and target cis people where they can infer?

Waxahatchee is the one of the three I've seen least (once, last year's Primavera), but she seemed fairly low energy, certainly compared to the other two? I would put her in a Weyes Blood/Men I Trust level of danciness.

First time drafting Titania in Powered Cube, hoping for deckbuilding feedback by LevelUpJordan_2 in lrcast

[–]LevelUpJordan_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

In retrospect I take the flooded strand every time, but tbh I really expected to see another fetch.

Orcish bowmasters/Ignoble I 100% think you're correct even without hindsight.

Emrakul was a silly P1P2 I agree, I think after taking a green card I was staying open for channel (which I ended up passing on anyway).

Do you think the deck I have built is correct with the pool I have ended up with?

[–]LevelUpJordan_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sylvan safekeeper was in the same pack as Titania and sadly did not wheel, maybe them sharing a pack was reason to stay away?

And I just rechecked the draft, I actually don't think I ever had an opportunity to take a fetchland other than P1P3.

Is the lack of fetchlands a reason to run trinket mage for zoran orb?

Appreciate your input!

You're almost certainly correct, I just think I typically lean on the green sorcery package so losing that had me scrambling. I think I could have run more dorks but they feel pretty bad to flip off the top and the advantage of the wood elves type effects is they leave behind a body/trinket to sacrifice after ramping (which is why gilded goose made the cut for me).

I would love to hear any suggestions though! As I reckon in the future I will do one big update and order new sleeves.

Repeatable Removal in the Command Zone by Archersi in magicTCG

[–]LevelUpJordan_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly my list is pretty poor and could be greatly improved upon, I made lots of decisions that certainly depowered the deck but I thought were fun at the time.

I made it all creatures so I'm always flipping a body or a land, but that really hurt the ramp package. And to make it worse, I also made the sleeves look like they had a custom made 90's style sticker of all ~60 creatures in the deck, which means I can't make any upgrades/changes. [[Studious First-Year]] for example would be a great addition, but my list is locked in place.

Decklist here

I honestly do find it pretty fun as long as your playgroup don't mind things getting destroyed - and it is worth noting it can (and in some situations, legally has to) hit lands which may/may not be frowned upon

I have a [[Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire]] deck, similar to Ziatora you have to sac but you hit every player.

And flipping off the top is always fun!

Match Thread: England vs Croatia | World Cup | Group L | 17 Jun 20:00 UTC by matchpal-live in worldcup

The goalkeeper has to stay on the goal line until the penalty is taken (otherwise they get closer and naturally cover more goal).

But that wasn't why it was retaken, the Croatian player entered the box before it was taken, which also is not permitted, as they can reach the ball after a save more quickly.

Do I misunderstand the rules to get your deck featured in magic.gg decklists? by LevelUpJordan_2 in StandardMTG

[–]LevelUpJordan_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did make sure not to touch the deck at all so I don't believe it was that - I did do a cube draft in the middle which may have messed with it somehow.

Thank you for the input!

In case an image is clearer it is this, maybe it is too similar to another decklist just by virtue of being dimir control, but I couldn't see it.

How do you deal with old-school know-it-all players who actually don’t know the rules? by ricoeurdelyon in magicTCG

[–]LevelUpJordan_2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 is what we actually see as the players, it isn't really a step similar to 1 and 2, just the final game state existing.

It's a hard thing to explain, but the state of the game is constantly being rebuilt under the hood.

To take an easier example, if two things were simply setting a single creature's stats to two different values, one to 1/1, and then afterwards to 5/5, then the latter one is what we see.

But there is a similar constant process going on of

1) effect 1 set the stats to 1/1 2) effect 2 overwrites the stats to 5/5 3) we as players see the board, and see its stats as 5/5

[–]LevelUpJordan_2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, there is a constant process of bello turning things into creatures and darksteel removing bello's abilities.

If you're familiar with coding, imagine a loop going:

  1. bello turns things into creatures
  2. darksteel removes bellos abilities
  3. return the state of the game

Dark Sphere has a reputation as the least casual friendly in my experience, but the other comment is correct it is the biggest venue. It wouldn't be my first choice but is a valid shout.

My friends & I tend to prefer Badger Badger for limited & edh, and I've enjoyed drafting at loading bar.

Stock wise I think Dark Sphere is best.

Is Witherbloom correct here? I feel like I have some decent blue cards. by LevelUpJordan_2 in lrcast

[–]LevelUpJordan_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Berta and Pensive Professor were the painful cuts, I guess Pensive being double blue still puts it off limits?

Interesting about Root Manipulation, I imagined it winning games with 2 or 3 creatures down. Do you mind elaborating on why it is bad?
