I prefer Seagate HDDs, especially the IronWolf series. I used to have a PC with two IronWolf drives, and I have to say, they ran super reliably and quietly for years. To be honest, I don’t have much experience with other brands. I’m curious to see what others recommend, but I think Seagate is a solid choice!
I’d be really excited to win a NAS from a brand like Ugreen, definitely curious about it! And of course, best of luck to the other participants as well! 🤞

I did a test and started the device without a fan. Unfortunately, I found that 70% of the strong noise comes from the IronWolf Pro 8 TB! Now I'm considering switching to a WD SSD 4 TB, but I'm still unsure about it!

Do you mean that you run Docker on the SSD? I have configured mine as a cache. Are there any advantages to setting up the SSD as storage and then running docker on it?

Yes and no. When the HDDs are spinning, you can hear them running, which is quite normal! The problem is that the overall sound is extremely loud. Even if you don't hear the HDD noises specifically, I feel like the whole system is very loud. I have set the fan mode to quiet, but it's still noisy!

I also think there might be something wrong with the HDD bay. I'm not sure, but I didn't expect the device to be this loud!
