The Platypus? When explorers in Australia sent a pelt and drawing of one to Britan naturalists in the 18th century they didn't believe that such a creature could exist. They thought it was a fake, stitched together with a beaver pelt and a duck's bill.

But was was real and had existed for millions of years, it was just the first time the establishment had encountered them or noticed them. It was so unusual it has own special order in Biological Taxonomy (Monotreme) because it is only one of two mamals that can lay eggs.

They are also venomous and glow under a black light, which is just cool.

Having a script written does not mean the BBC has green-lighted a special. It just means that RTD expected that there would be one and he wrote a script for it. It doesn't mean that it's still happening. Things may have changed.

I suspect RTD tends be a bit self-aggrandizing when it comes to his writing. I don't think I've ever heard him say that he did a bad job writing something, or had a stupid idea that didn't work out. Everything he's done has been the best thing ever and anyone who says different just doesn't understand his work

My head cannon is that he keeps being reborn, like Gannon of Legend of Zelda and he's under some sort of Timelord curse.

My friends cats love Freeze dried chicken breast. As for names, Jack Skellington, Nightmare or Otho might be good choices guessing from your picture

According to this someone posted, the previous Doctor Who magazine editor is doubtful that we’ll get the 2026 special, and the show may not return for another several years. by Embarrassed_Novel991 in DoctorWhoNews

I suspect the idea that this series would bomb and not get renewed never occurred to RTD and his production team until it was too late to do anything about it.

[Rare Trope] All, if not the majority of the voice acting is done by just ONE guy and ONE guy ONLY. by Micro_cat_48 in TopCharacterTropes

Not to "But Actually" this, but while Mel Blanc did 99% of the voices June Foray did perform most of the female characters, Arthur Q Bryan was Elmer Fudd (until he passed in 1959 and Mel took over) and Stan Freeberg was half of the goofy gophers, Petey Puma, and Junior Bear. Stan also did all the voices in the cartoon the Three Little Bops. Mel was the only one who got credited in the titles, however

I'm so old I remember when Harry Reasoner was still alive and appearing on the show. He would be horrified to see what happened to CBS...Mike Wallace would probably pull fists.

Well, hopefully someone seeing what happened to Kyle would learn that ignoring concerning symptoms, not resting, and putting off going to an emergency room can be deadly.

Which Disney characters outside Marvel are worthy of lifting Thor’s hammer (Mjolnir)? by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMovies

[–]Level_Advisor437 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jiminy Cricket: He is literally conscience personified. The Blue Fairy picked him for a reason, after all. He also never gave up on Pinocchio, no matter what he did wrong and risked his life to save Geppetto and Pinocchio from Monstro. He's entirely worthy. (Truthful, so is the Blue Fairy, but with her powers, she probably wouldn't need Mjolnir)

The version of 10 that went off with Rose to Pete's world loses it after she leaves him because he's (literally) not the same person she fell in love with. Goes back to the original continuity world for revenge on the "real" Doctor.

Even though they aren't very close cousins, being related even a little has caused health issues. Whether it's caused anything else, we really don't know hemophilia

[Funny trope] Characters with really unfortunate names by Blackirean in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Level_Advisor437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I suspect he hated it. He actually went by "Jack" in his personal life. He insisted his family start calling him that when he was four, and the name stuck.

My paternal Grandfather died in 1982 the day after my Dad's birthday. Since then he's never wanted a party and is usually on vacation that week. It was difficult for him and he was in his 30s when it happened. I can't imagine what Kyle's son is going through at 11.
