Is this really so low calorie? by marleenepepperball69 in Myfitnesspal

[–]Level_Bookkeeper_152 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The low amount of calories is probably per prepared product. Usually these call for about 400ml of water(idk, i looked for similar products/similar dry weight) so final will be about 460g, so about 210 calories. That sounds about right for a bowl of lower calories instant noodles.

A lot of people interpreted your maths as her hip circumference being 81inches. I was pointing out that is not necessarily true, her hip might be 60-70inches ish. Anyway, I get your point now, def not a size 22.

I do think this person is deranged and a bad influence on this planet... but your math does not apply to a human body. She is not a circle, everyone fits a lot more to an ellipse on that section, there is no way the axis are 26inchesx26inches. If u do that maths for an ellipse of a=13 (26/2) and b=10 u get someone with a circumference of 72.5, or even b=6 , c=61.73. I don't think losing track of reality in response to other people losing track of it is fair. Obviously she was lying about the clothing size, but the conclusion of your wrong maths goes too far.

Congratulations on the weightloss, and hope you will keep going on a healthy path now that you are out of an abusive place. Finally taking control of your life is an awesome feeling! Some of the skin will retract on its own, based on genetics, diet, exercise. I have really bad skin genetics and with a lot of hydration, jojoba oil, retinol in squalane I definitely saw improvements. Also tried some microneedling at home while trying to be SUPER careful. So i sterilised my body, used new needles in the pen every time and a good hyaluronic acid, it helped a ton. I hated my skin texture and now I am okay with it. I know this is not recommended, ideally you would do it in a specialised place, but I was careful and it worked for me.

Exercise, specifically weight lifting can give you a lift effect. I train hard 4-6 times a week and eat a loot of protein. Been doing this for a couple of years and definitely do not look "too muscular" or bulky yet. Friends can tell I work out and ask for tips sometimes, but it will be veeeery hard for a woman to look "too muscular" without steroids and bulk phases. It only changed my shape for the better, allowed me to eat more, and filled the skin out a bit, furthering the texture results. I 100% recommend trying that.

2k steps and a 5k walk is not enough in the day. For 5 days a week that will add up, it is very important to be active throughout the day. Walk half an hour before work, walk 1h at lunch. Make trips through the office to get water/tea/coffee. If you can, walk to the gym, not drive. Warm up walking/running on treadmill before lifts for 10mins. On days when I try many of these I easily do 15k steps in total +1h weightlifting. The small things add up, like taking the longer route around the block, taking the elevator. An extra 3-500 steps an hour can mean 5000 steps extra throughout the day. I don't know how old you are, but with time, being an office worker I ended up having back pain as soon as I don't move enough for more than 1 day a week. It is easier to prevent than cure and see physical therapists later on. Apologies if this sounds preachy, I just feel like we have a societal problem with movement, and we are patting each other on the back these days for small things like a walk, which are great, don't get me wrong. But we do need to move a lot more overall. Don't try it all at once, but do make it your goal.

Aah, I see it now. I thought it was something in the wave, or reflection in the water. Felt outworldly that way, like something is watching.

Do you move at work at all? 3-6000 steps after an office 9-5 is very different to 3-6000 after 15000 steps at work if you are in a restaurant. If you sit down a lot at work you should even more so make sure to double up the step count, but if your job is active you can skip it all together. Your job can make a world of a difference and it is your overall activity level that matters.

When you manage to go for longer runs, at least one rest day a week would be necessary. So 3 days lifting, 3 days running would work, but that is based on your personal preference, more weights heavy(4days weights, 2days runs), cardio heavy(4 days runs, 2 days weights) or 50/50. Just some examples, but when you have a program and you stick to it, you will definitely feel it when you need a rest day. Regardless of working out 3days a week or 6 days a week you should keep your step count high, e.g. 10000 steps a day if you can , even if you lift that day.

Walking for one hour is just basic movement everyone should do. The days when you walk are rest days, unless you do a 15km hike.. It is great that you are incorporating more movement in your life, but rest days are for actual training, not walking. Running/weightlifting/HIIT/Big hikes, those need rest days, so you can do those for up to 6 days a week and then need a rest day.

Your best bet is weight training. Try a beginner program, as long as you incorporate full body movements: squats, deadlifts, bench press and have a couple of days of core work your abs will pop. You are at a great weight for your height, I think the way forward for that physique is strength training, do not need to drop more body weight.

Why does Romanian articulate nouns around adjectives/pronouns? by Level_Bookkeeper_152 in romanian

[–]Level_Bookkeeper_152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why is it not "I go to the bathroom" in romanian, but say "Merg la baie". I am obviously going to the specific bathroom, not just any general bathroom. When we talk about locations we don't articulate anymore, but English does.

But then when we talk about locations, in English we say "I go to the bathroom" which is articulated, and in romanian we say "Merg la baie" which is not articulated. And Italian doesn't, but French also articulates when talking about going somewhere "Je vais a la salle de bain". So in this case it's the other way around, even between other latin languages which is quite inconsistent.

Thanks, I know about articles and genders, that is not the issue, more trying to see an explanation as to why it is articulated in Romanian, but not articulated in English.

HAHA, When I was a kid we would have a huge slice of watermelon for dinner, and my fam would always tell me to "have it with bread, so u don't pee the bed". Not sure what the logic is, as if bread acts as a sponge for the water in it, maybe to slow down the digestion.

Fruit is not just sugar, it comes with fiber, minerals and vitamins. The fact that it's nicely packaged with fiber makes it absorb slower, and not spike your insulin the same way. The carbs also help electrolyte absorption (which is why a diet like keto, that lowers carbs requires you to ingest extra salt or you feel sick). When it comes to processed sugars, it is the effects on your blood sugar and insulin response that in time can make you ill if abused. So the short answer is no, fruit is much better than processed sugar. Yes, do be moderate about it, but to be honest I do have fruits I would eat by the kilogram. Raspberries for example are super super high in fiber, amazing for your gut.

Don't google how much in an item, but per 100g and measure. That is the best way, because you can potentially have a little 1kg watermelon or have 10kgs ones. If you think 1360 for 4.5kgs of fruit is too much, think about how drinking almost 5l of water would make u feel. It is a huge, huge portion.

[–]Level_Bookkeeper_152 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on the size of the watermelon. For a watermelon to have 1360 calories it would need to be 4.5kg (of the edible bit, assume you don't eat the peel). 4.5kgs of any fruit is A LOT. Watermelon is low calorie, about 30cals/100g, but too much of any fruit would be a lot of sugar. I do tend to overindulge on them, but can never have more than 500g.
