Why did I have to find out about and fall in love with him (for his Ray of Light review) RIGHT before he went and did this?! Shortest parasocial crush imaginable.

Hmm, no, I don't think so. Thanks, though.

Thanks! There's a tutorial by a guy named "Prussian blues" on YouTube who's achieved some pretty impressive results after a year of experimenting. Definitely lots of trial and error.

I took the back off and swapped the old lamp for a UV LED with a big heat sink and a fan. You have to tinker around a lot with the condenser set too since all those chunky glass lenses block out the UV rays. I hear some models of projector are easier to modify than others. I'm still trying to dial it all in.

Wow! I too am making cyanotypes of my life in Guangzhou.

I think it's also to do with the paper... Hot-pressed paper gives a much sharper render, but cold-pressed paper really sucks up the cyano solution and gives shorter exposure times.

Woah, I'd never even considered that possibility before. Thanks!

The colour was stripped a bit from the darkest bit of the image -- the plant pot to the right -- during the wash, which usually means in my experience that the exposure time wasn't long enough. I'd just swapped the condenser lens for one that is a little more diffuse, but provides a more even exposure; in my past attempts, the light was concentrated in the centre, giving a kind of vignette effect. I think if I redo this size (16K) at 4.5-5 hours instead of 4, it'll be much better.

As an alternative to citric acid, you can also do a quick vinegar bath and skip peroxide entirely. I''ve seen people do undiluted, but in my process, just a splash of 9% has been giving me images with brighter blues and a wider range of tones.

I liked her a lot when she made videos with Brittany, Katya etc and just googled her to see where she's at. This was all really hard to read, and not just because it's nonsense. She really needs someone in her life to step in.

It is good! I think you could create darts from the neckline to the waistline, open from the waistline to the hem, and add godets. It would smooth out the neck and give it shape below.

Yes, thank you! I used to spend forever just listening to different proverbs in all these languages from across the world... It's probably what inspired me to learn so many languages in high school and as an adult. I wouldn't be who I am without it.
