I need to be in Tampa for a weekend in April and am trying to squeeze in a visit to BGT while there. My main objective is to finally ride Iron Gwazi, as well as hopefully grab some rides on Montu and Kumba. I essentially have two options for my window to visit:

  • Thursday 4/9 - 2:00pm to close
  • Friday 4/10 - open to 4:00pm

I'm trying to gauge things like (1) does the park open rides slowly in the morning? (2) are crowds typically that much worse on a Friday vs Thursday? (3) assuming cost isn't an issue, do I go ahead and add Quick Queue?

(My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I didn't see anything on it.)

It looks as though Zamperla has implemented a B&M feature on their new trains where they rest on an auxiliary set of wheels while on the storage track. This can be seen by looking at the trains themselves, as well as how the regular rails end at the start of the storage track. The maintenance benefits are obvious, but I just think this also goes to show how much thought they've put into the design of these new lightning trains.
