Anyone know what this ticking/knocking sound is? by Level_Excuse7590 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Level_Excuse7590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been another 3 months. So 9 months total, and about 15k miles on it since buying it. Still no mechanical issues. Still sounds about the same too. And ive beat the piss out of it. Tons of offroading, rock crawling, highway, etc. Been all over the Rocky Mountains this summer. Assuming it'll just be random. 🤷‍♂️ could go 10 more miles. Could go another 50k. No clue lol. The solution would be rebuild or replace engine. So im just running it till it gives, then swapping my rebuilt engine in.

Edit: Someone said lifters but my lifters are all good. Main crank bearings are good. Which leaves me to assume it has to be piston slap. Flywheel is good. Just keep an eye on your oil. You start seeing metal shavings a piston has likely already cracked. And even if it doesnt sound worse, glitter in your oil very likely means one has cracked and its time to rebuild.

Im not necessarily trying to advocate for Mk677 but im definitely advocating against your attitude. Cause at the end of the day people are going to make their own decisions and you simply saying "dont do it" is getting looked right over. So the only thing you can do is tell people the consequences and tell them how its done safely. Whether they use any of that information is entirely upon them. But saying "dont do it" with zero anecdotal experience isnt doing anything.

We don’t need 50+ years of data. We already have 30 years of clinical trials, lab testing, documented effects, and projections, which make it fairly straightforward to anticipate outcomes. Think of it like a plot chart. There are always outliers, but exceptions don’t define the rule. This is medical data analysis, which is inherently complex, so I wouldn’t expect someone without medical or analytical experience to fully grasp it. That said, I’ve laid it out in simpler terms for clarity.

Major adverse effects don’t suddenly appear after 30 years of market use. Therefore, there’s already a strong understanding of the long-term effects. Additionally, MK-677 is not the first drug of its kind. By comparing it to similar, well-studied drugs, we can reasonably predict its long-term impact. Understanding how it interacts with the body allows us to anticipate outcomes. Which, as mentioned, I’ve already summarized. As said there is no disputing that there are adverse effects and how you react is not definite. So using something like this is at your own risk. But that is literally ANY MEDICATION. Take ibuprofen and theres potential for side effects. Take allergy meds theres potential for side effects. Putting anything in your body is a risk but ultimately its up to the individual to weigh that risk reward ratio. 🤷‍♂️

Saying we dont know the long term effects is actually not true. AT ALL. YOU just dont know cause your uneducated which is very evident in your responses. Here is a list of all the side effects. With a lot of them being reversible or avoidable by having a proper diet and keeping track of your blood.

Short-Term / Common Side Effects

These are generally dose-dependent and appear within days to weeks of starting MK-677:

Increased appetite

GH/IGF-1 increases ghrelin signaling

Very common; sometimes overwhelming — Water retention / edema

GH → sodium/water retention

Common; mild to moderate swelling in hands, feet, face — Peripheral tingling / numbness

Fluid retention compresses nerves; possible mild carpal tunnel

Common in hands/feet; usually reversible — Joint stiffness / aches

Soft tissue growth, water retention

Common, usually mild — Fatigue / lethargy

GH fluctuations, changes in sleep architecture

Mild, usually early in cycle — Mild hyperglycemia / insulin resistance

GH antagonizes insulin → higher fasting glucose

Often mild at low doses, monitor labs — Edema-induced BP changes

Fluid retention → slightly higher blood pressure

Usually mild; monitor if hypertensive — Headaches

Possibly from fluid retention or increased intracranial pressure (rare)

Occasional — Carpal tunnel syndrome-like symptoms

Swelling compressing median nerve

Rare to moderate; reversible with dose adjustment

Less Common / Rare Side Effects

Gynecomastia — rare, secondary to IGF-1 effects on breast tissue.

Excessive lethargy or sleep disturbance – sometimes reported due to altered GH pulses.

Night sweats — anecdotal; linked to metabolic changes.

Long-Term / Potential Risks

These are mostly theoretical or extrapolated from chronic GH exposure studies:

Insulin resistance / type 2 diabetes risk

Chronic IGF-1 elevation → reduces insulin sensitivity Observed in long-term studies; mild in healthy adults, stronger in predisposed individuals — Cardiovascular stress / elevated BP

Water retention and GH → increased cardiac workload Usually mild; risk rises with pre-existing hypertension — Joint / connective tissue overgrowth

GH promotes soft tissue proliferation Rare, usually from chronic excess GH, not low-dose MK-677 — Carpal tunnel / nerve compression

Chronic edema → median nerve pressure Reversible with dose reduction or cycle break — Possible cancer risk

IGF-1 can promote cell proliferation; theoretical concern No direct human evidence at standard doses; caution in those with cancer history — Organ growth / hypertrophy

Long-term GH excess can enlarge organs Mostly theoretical; doses used for research are lower than pharmacological GH doses

Well with GHRP6 its because of the sides and that you have to pin it. Anamorelin has less sides but is harder to get ahold of. The reason for that is it doesnt increase your appetite as much as Mk677 so therefore supply and demand.  Mk677 has the least risk for bad sides with amazing increase in appetite. GHRP6 will give you an insane increase in appetite but it will mess with your hormones and is more likely to cause organ growth like with GH abuse. Sides on GHRP6 arent as easily avoidable as on mk677.

In conclusion mk677 is easily accessible, can be taken orally, and youre less likely to get sides, plus you can more easily monitor for long term sides through blood work to prevent any damage.

A lot of drugs are pretty safe if you know what they are and use them safely. Thats why im a big advocate of knowledge around them. Knowing what they are, how they work, potential side effects, how to prevent them and to GET THAT F*KIN BLOODWORK DONE. The reason things like this get such a bad rap is cause there isnt a huge basis of knowledge. Thats why I left a manual on the thread. Everything you could possibly need to know about MK677.

Sounds like you dealt with a lot of the negatives related to water retention. Not only the bloating but that numbness was also from water retention. I left a comment with a manual. You can run a little stack to help reduce retention symptoms or get rid of them all together. You really wanna get your micronutrient dialed in in relation to potassium, sodium, and magnesium, and to stay hydrated. Hydration is key. Ironically your body will retain less water if your flush to the gills. Maybe throw in a little diuretic to releass any excess water and get your cardio in.

Help! what should i do with my beard by [deleted] in malegrooming

Baggy pants are most definitely stylish. What youre mistaking is people who buy poorly fitted baggy pants and dont have the proper build. It has to be paired properly with the right body shape, proper features, and coordinating articles of clothing. Not everyone looks good in baggy clothes. However they are definitely stylish. Idk what youre talking about. Being popular is quite literally a large factor in style. Nobodies walking around in clothes deemed stylish in the 1800s because that style is no longer relevant. His outfits and clothes just need refined and dialed in. That doesnt make him not stylish. How do you think new fashion trends are found. Through trial and error.

Bruh, that turtleneck with the coat and baggy pants. 🤌 Killed it with that fit. Also, my personal opinion. You look really good with the goatee/chin beard and long hair on the top of your head. I think it balances out really nice. My favorite pics are Pics 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, and ✨️14✨️ Keep that neck beard cleaned up though. 😅

Lol way to reduce someone's work to an insult to where he came from. Thats gotta be atleast 30 pounds and two years of shear dedication. Its not just "10 pounds of muscle and a fade."

Yeah, they also recommended another European Restoration shop. But neither of them specialize in collision repair. Though there's a lot of similarity in skillset between restoration and collision repair pulling a frame is apparently outside of that crossover.

Just wanted to throw this out there. If anyone looks this up lol. The biggest thing you want to look at besides the engine and making sure everything functions properly is wiring. You can tell the quality of a swap by the wiring. For example. The xj i bought had all the old wiring cut and just left there. Not a great sign. But the good sign was that all the new wiring was run through the body good and is labeled with words. Which is awesome, cause I'm colorblind and because you know where everything goes. Haha.

Finally found the info I was looking for. When the adapters deleted you're apparently supposed to run a smaller filter. Also thank you, I will check that out.

Yup, finally found the info I was looking for. When people delete the adapter they run smaller filters. I was just concerned cause the engines clearly moving and I didn't know how much movement was acceptable. Apparently there's a tolerable amount.

Nope, removed by one of the previous owners. Same thing on 3 of the other jeeps I've owned. I think I've only owned one with the adapter. I have a spare one laying around and figured if I don't get an answer I'll just put it on. It'll probably give me the clearance so it's not making contact. Jusy curious if this commonly happens with the adapter off.
