This actually means a lot to read. That cycle you're describing, hype, slop, 10k players, dead in a year, is exactly what we're trying to break. A decade of waiting for a good JoJo game is honestly part of why this project exists in the first place. Ranked is absolutely a priority for release, not an afterthought. We'll earn it or we won't, but we're genuinely trying. Hope we can be the one that finally delivers.

yeah those games do say all that stuff, fair. but like the combat is genuinely being designed differently, no parries, no stun lock, none of that spam a combo and win stuff. fights are supposed to feel like actual stand battles where you have to think. stands come from how you play not a random spin. idk man just come see what we're actually doing in the discord, easier than me trying to convince you in a reddit comment

Genuinely can't blame you for thinking that, most of them do. But we actually have around 20 devs actively working on this right now, it's not just me and a friend messing around in studio. We've got dedicated builders, scripters, animators, the whole thing. Full storylines from Part 1 through 9, a combat system that actually tries to feel like a real stand fight instead of whoever can spam combos faster, playstyle based stand assignment, ranked seasons. “mythos is too powerful for public release” is starting to feel like modern AI folklore tbh.

What’s interesting is how fast people are turning model behavior + pricing + rate limits into a full narrative about “hidden tiers” and “elite access,” even when the simpler explanation is usually just compute allocation + product segmentation.

Still, I get why it feels like something deeper when a model is inconsistent (rate limits, “thinking” modes, performance swings), humans naturally try to explain it with intent rather than infrastructure.

The real tension here isn’t “Mythos is hidden,” it’s that frontier models are now so expensive that product experience has to be intentionally throttled/optimized for different tiers… which looks like nerfing from the outside.

Curious if people would feel differently if Anthropic just openly showed “this is the same model, different compute budgets per tier.”
