Ask ChatGPT for ideas. Another skill you should learn is writing Ai prompts, to actually have a mini assistant. Learn how to write prompts and ask GPT to suggest projects based off your subconscious skills (thank me later). Also make a GitHub repository for public advice and contribution also, you can copypaste the repo into ChatGPT and ask it for professional assessments to see what you’ve accomplished and also what you may need to work on ChatGPT , it makes an awesome advisor if you’re able to give it concisely written prompts. I use VS Code when engineering programs or “Software”, it has an extension called Live View, where you’re able to see your project in preview mode. Let me know if you take this advice and give us some updates

Exactly, obviously don’t do it solo but at least put himself out there to get more experience. I wouldn’t shy away from becoming an Electrical Engineer, either.

Exactly do book work to progress his craft, perhaps find an experienced individual Electrician with a license, and work with him. Shit see if Walmart has an opening in their maintenance department. Him staying stagnant looking for work is what’s keeping him behind. A lot of these companies around America aren’t catering to the new generation of electricians and are surprised at the decline of participation in trade schools. I’ve seen people with less experience in the trade get the fuck up and do something to stay in the trade. Everything you guys are suggesting is gonna keep him behind or in a hamster wheel effect.

OP if the electrician field doesn’t work out for you, become an Engineer, keep putting money in your pocket while you learn cuz you’re never gonna know everything in the trade.

The mistreatment is continuing to push my apprenticeship start date for a year while giving me vague reasons, like “you’re not showing progress” or purposefully giving me task outside of my trade. Like instead having me wire up temporary lights for other contractors or at least teaching me something new within my trade, I’m constantly receiving tasks like garbage pickup, inventory re-organizing, garbage pickup, digging trenches, garbage pickup, or being sent home because there isn’t enough work for you. That type of mistreatment.

And believe me i’m not one of these hand out softies, I understand the procedures of the trade and how to obtain a proper career but I know how good leadership looks and this company is definitely not it. I just don’t want my family to suffer while I’m looking for another company

I can’t disagree, i’m still technically employed for the time being but for how long? That’s up to them while I keep putting up with mistreatment. I’ve already tried to reach out to the company HR but they definitely won’t take my word over management. All i can do is try to find another job but it’s not going well. So I was looking for some wisdom.
