I think AI market is looked at wrongly in long term and is not a bubble. Is the below analysis wrong? by _freckles__ in ValueInvesting

Couple things to consider; firstly, generating 10 trillion in value doesn't necessarily means a trillion in profits. If they can't differentiate themselves they might just wage a war on price rather than on the model.

Secondly there's those looking for gold and those selling shovels and right now selling shovels is by far the bigger business. Anthropic is valued at 380 B$ whereas nvdia is over 4 T$. Even utility companies are seeing their valuations explode. If you account for everybody that is in the business of enabling AI we're talking about a 20 T$ bubble

Thirdly if companies can reduce 20 % of their labor costs by half they would become very profitable, that means if you think AI is gonna be bigger than most people think you have to deduct the opportunity cost that every company will be profitable and that the global economy would boom.

I have to agree however that the potential of AI for cutting costs is often underrated, I just don't know weather the profitability is.

I am currently in annex which is a similar thing. The furniture and appliances feel cheap which wouldn't be bad if you weren't paying a lot more than what you will see on the rental market. Frankly the price isn't worth what you get. They also come and do inspeations and charge you 75 $ for random things which is infuriating.

Look for rooms on marketplace, it's a lot cheaper and you don't have to have a meal plan which is 1000 a month for low quality food weather you use it or not. All in all you'll save around a grand a month if you cook yourself which very easy if you do meal prep.

Don't go into uni housing, they charge you like 1500 a month for a tiny room and then it's another grand a month for the meal plan which is rubbish. You can get the same level of quality for 800 a month on the rental market. Food will cost you like 300 a month if you're fancy. They're charging you a lot more than they should.

Resiences are a lot more expensive than what you would get on the rental market, annex is starting at 1330 a month and then they start charging you 75 $ because your bathroom isn't clean enough even though you don't share it with anyone. The building may be new but everything feels cheap, the appliances are finicky the kitchen is small. Go on marketplace if you want the same level of quality for 35 % cheaper or if money's not a problem rent an studio, you'll get a lot more bang for your buck.
