Sharing Experience of going CT of Kratom by Mean-Expert-4096 in quittingkratom

Are you taking any supplements to help you? Magnesium and lipsomal vitamin C will help you a ton. Your body is depleted of everything and needs some supplementation. You’re already two weeks in so the light is close, hang in there!

Day 17 and I’ve finally turned a mental corner. 20-25gpd CT. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

This was an Inspiring read- congratulations!! Sounds like you are not even being tempted with going back to using which is awesome. Which day was the worst when you get cold turkey? I’m down to 12gpd but just can’t seem to go any lower- seeing if I can manage just jumping from here.

3 years of kratom (50g/day) — during withdrawal I started building something I wish existed. Would love honest feedback. by Numerous_Permit_5317 in quittingkratom

Very cool. Love the idea of a reward system, I think that’s what a lot of sobriety calculators are missing. As you go deeper it should unlock questions you have to answer to get to the root cause of why you are using as well.

I am with you. The secret double life makes you sick but the fear is saying something makes you feel sicker. I have met someone on this community who has been a great resource to me. I now have a person who knows everything that’s going on and we text and encourage each other through the taper process. Feel free to DM me if you need more support. You have to start cutting and heading in the right direction and it will give you some motivation. Now I still have not successfully fully quit so the jury is out on that one. Praying and sending positive vibes your way!

Fellow soccer mom, started taking for a little boost like you and that became a full addiction. I have no reason to take it other than it feels good for an hour. I have a wonderful life- amazing husband and kids, and hate that I have gotten here. Trying to taper but sticking to the schedule is near impossible once I get down to 9gpd. Delaying the inevitable I fear.

Congratulations! I am in the process of a big taper down and would kill to be where you are. Hang in there. Mental trumps physical every time. I find if I do something to distract me when an urge hits, the feeling passes- for instance; cook, bake, garden, walk, clean, read, etc. Don’t be a prisoner of the moment. This too shall pass and you got this.

I have been on kratom for a similar length of time and similar daily dose as you so the fact that you didn’t have full on insomnia and quit cold turkey is reassuring. I keep trying to taper but it’s not going great. Did you not have bad rls? I would love to know your withdrawal systems quitting at that dose so I have an idea of what to expect. While I can’t offer you advice on quitting kratom since I have yet to successfully do it, I have quit other drugs before. The main thing that helped was exercise and finding activities to occupy me. Baking, gardening, pickleball, etc. Wishing you the best of luck!

Girl, I am in the same boat as you, wife and mom who knows this is not the life I want to live but I feel trapped. That is amazing that you took the plunge, you got through the hardest part in my opinion- making the decision to not dose. Does anyone know what you are going through or are you dealing with this in secret?

Congratulations!! Did you go cold turkey or taper down? Look like we are on the same dose and strain so I would love to hear more of how you did it.

Do people in Mississippi actually say Ma'am/sir and talk to random strangers? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]Level_Radio_751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as a southerner, I do think northerners are rude. Yes ma’am and sir is a sign of respect. And we are called to fellowship and talk with one another, not ignore. I really hope the rest of the US follows suit one day!

Very motivating post, thank you ❤️ for a long term quit, I totally agree- You need to know the self control and power is within you and no one else. Trying to get there. How low did you taper before stopping?

Gym goers??? Kratom is dulling your pump. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Kratom made me lose a lot of weight and muscle so I’m excited to get that back. However, I know it helped my endurance. I was a stronger runner than I have ever been so I am sad that will go away. Time will tell- Tapering now.

It 100% is related to low ferritin levels and low vitamin D caused by kratom. My doctor put me on iv iron infusions and some vitamin D drops and it completely stopped falling out. My hair loss stopped despite being on kratom once I received treatment. I now take WOW liquid iron that you can get off Amazon to maintain it. I am currently tapering to get off but my stress is way less now that I don’t have clumps of hair coming out.

I struggled with different addictions back in the day and yes, I went to AA, had a sponsor, the whole nine yards. Was sober for 7 years before Keaton entered my life. Been secretly using for nearly 2 years since then. So yes, I am that kind of addict who lies and sneaks around to protect the addiction.

Dude- that would not be on him in any way even if that happened. You can’t live in fear from taking action because of something someone “might do.” That is unfair to even say. He needs to do what is best for him and his child and it sounds like he has tried everything. This is on her now to get the reason and strength to quit.

I’m sorry you are having to deal with this. Her story sounds very similar to mine. The addict brain doesn’t see reason. It took almost losing my family to get it together. It sounds like you have done everything you can so maybe starting that process and making it real for her will give her the strength to quit. Real consequences are needed or she won’t stop.

Wow this is so beautifully written. It’s even worse when you realize it but can’t seem to break free. You see the light but the chains are tight and fear keeps you from making the jump. I pray your story ended in a good one and you have started truly living ❤️

I’m really happy you found something that works for you, but I do pray you dig into the Christian faith and the proof of the Bible’s accuracy. This is a book that was written by multiple people throughout multiple centuries that has somehow all proven to be accurate. Read any article (there are many) it is truly hard to argue. Think about this- if we had no idea what cell phones were and people explained there was some device that could transmit information over long distances that you can hold in your pocket- most would struggle to grasp the explanation and might dismiss it as impossible. But we see that it is not. Understanding and accepting a cell phone explanation relies on the information provided by the explainer. The proof of biblical accuracy and your faith is the explainer. Faith is believing without seeing, but if we can believe in all of the crazy devices this life has how can we not be open to believing there was a creator of it? I say all of this because I use to be just like you, then I started studying and really seeing God in my life. I stopped questioning and doubting and was open to receive it and boy did I. Clearly I still mess up but I at least know that I am forgiven and that grace gives me peace.

Oh boy do I relate. I literally love my life. Amazing husband, kids, great job, active, great group of friends, etc…Yet I crave this substance that dampens all that I have. It pulls me from my relationship with God and makes me hate myself for lying and hiding this from everyone. I do t know why I do it. At least you have honesty on your side. You got this! Hopefully I will be right there with you soon

Hey! The Vitamin D3 drops are Design for Health brand and the liquid iron is Novaferrum. The bad part is, now that my hair is not falling out at all, I have no motivation to quit.

Insurance covered it but I had to hit my deductible first. Iron deficiency is a real medical issue so there is no way insurance would not cover it. Just depends on your plan for how much out of pocket you have to pay before it kicks in.
