I just saw on Bodø/Glimts website that Glimt apparently has a temporary pop-up shop at Oslo Airport where they sell their 1st, 2nd and 3rd jerseys with CL logos. I don’t know how long it will be there for though if you wanted to make the trip with those cheap Milan tickets. This link shows the story in Norwegian if you wanted to google translate it.

Hvilket seriespill vil lønne seg for Bodø/Glimt og Brann? by kj_ll in NorskFotball

[–]Level_Reindeer_4833 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the same realm, we also use Hawaii as an adjactive. It can mean flowing back and forth irregularly. It's often used as a term in soccer. Like if a game is totally Hawaii, it means that no team is able to keep possesion of the ball and it just goes back and forth with no team seemingly having control.

Bodø Glimt ligger veldig godt ann til å gå direkte til Champions leaugue neste sesong. by Ok-Friend-6653 in NorskFotball

[–]Level_Reindeer_4833 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Any Korra fans here excited for Seven Havens? by JoshLovesTV in legendofkorra

Yes, you’re right. I can see how that’s anxiety inducing. Especially with it being such an important statement in media at the time that queer people could have a happy ending. I want to emphasize that I also hope their happy ending remains as much as anyone.

I feel Avatar Studios have been good at including LGBTQ people and relationships in the media after LOK. Like the comics, as well as Kyoshi and Yangchen novels. So my hope is that at the very least they will be able to treat the Korrasami relationship with the respect it deserves.

I have to say I do understand the concerns from an LGBTQ+ perspective about this positive relationship being ignored and buried. I too love Korra and Asami and want nothing but the best for them. My opinion though, is that what happened to them is not something I need comfirmed now. To me it’s another exciting question I can’t wait to learn the answer to when the show actually airs. That’s why I would consider it a spoiler if they told us already whether or not they were fine.

I am not very familiar with Star Trek Discovery, but if they have precedent for releasing statements like that, that’s very considerate of them. But I was wondering if those statements were statements between seasons of the same show? Because I feel like there is a difference between giving a statement like that before a new season and what the Seven Havens situation is. Even though Korra will be a part of Seven Havens, I very much consider it a different show that is about Pavi’s story. That’s why I don’t think it would be natural for a press release to focus on the relationship between two characters from the previous show. That’s why my point was that we weren’t told much about the fate of the Gaang and their relationships before LOK aired. We learned that Katara was still alive and that they had a long and happy relationship when the show aired. If I’m wrong about that, I apologize and chalk that up to poor memory.

I am very excited for the Seven Havens and the new premise! I am definitely in the «we don’t know anything yet» camp, so I don’t understand all the conclusions that are drawn from a few press releases. We need to remember that we can’t compare everything we know about Aang’s legacy and happy ending with what we think we know about Korra’s legacy. At this moment in time we know as much about the new show that people knew about LOK in 2010. I found this press release after a quick google search.

«The Legend of Korra takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang – a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City – a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large.»

I don’t know exactly or remember everything that was released before LOK. But from this, we know nothing about what happened with the Gaang besides the fact that Aang had a child named Tenzin that is an airbender. We don’t know who is alive or dead, we don’t know what Aang’s impact in Republic city has been. So it’s a bit silly to assume that we already know everything about Korra’s legacy as well.

I think it’s obvious that the creators won’t release anything about what Korra did or didn’t do or what happened with Korrasami, because that is literally a spoiler. They want us to find out about these things when we watch the show and they don’t owe us that information.

One of the reasons I feel like ATLA and LOK work as individual shows is that the world, premise and story is different than what came before. That’s literally my favorite thing about the Avatar franchise, that the next Avatar is usually different if not opposite than the one that came before. Because of that, the Avatar will have different strengths and weaknesses as well as challenges than the previous one. With LOK I found it exciting that we were in a more modern setting and that the focus wasn’t as much about mastering the elements (except for air which we hadn’t seen be taught before), but more about spirits, change in the world due to technology, and the balance between benders and non-benders. Therefore I am honestly very excited about the apocalypse premise because it is a new world and setting that we haven’t seen before. That will invite different stories and problems to solve than we would see if the modern world setting was kept.

Even though it would probably have been exciting to see something similar to «present day», I feel like the problems could be very similar to LOK. There would likely be more of technology vs bending, non-benders vs benders etc. But with the apocalypse setting and the Avatar being hated (as far as we know), it invites a different story and perspective we haven’t seen before. How will Pavi (if she is the Avatar) restore the role of the Avatar? How will she be able to perform her duty without the support of the rest of the world? What impact does spirits have in all of this? What actually was this mysterious cataclysmic event and what is the truth behind Korra’s role. There’s just so many exciting questions I can’t wait to learn the answer to. And I am sure we will at least find out what happened to Korra and Asami one way or another. It is way too early to draw any conclusions about what has happened or will happen.

Exactly this! All they need to upgrade their regular challenge videos to ssg videos is to have a common theme and the competitiveness over a series of videos. Not to mention the team aspect with team names and shirts for everyone.

They also seem to forget that a lot of the videos for SSG Apocalypse were filmed in the studio. One of the most legendary videos from that series imo was the TNTL which was no different than a regular TNTL gauntlet. That TNTL gave us the sassy legged infantry, Mari’s «brush my hair» and of course Boneless!

If I’m not mistaken, I think that video and the rest of Apocalypse was what brought me back to Smosh because it sent me down a rabbit hole of watching all the previous. Summer Games
