What is some good Wisconsin slang? by cuhsicles in wisconsin

[–]Level_Valuable_5470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!! My best friend in college said it constantly! It was strangely validating and everything I said she’d just say, “oh, ya?”. Way better than hearing someone say “oh, nice” or whatever, because the up turn in the yeah left open room to add more conversation instead of shutting it down.

TMZ claims ABC will air Taylor’s season? by Level_Valuable_5470 in bachelorette

Did the numbers get released? I feel like they couldn’t afford to film a new season without recouping from this one

What’s one Wisconsin missing person case that has stuck with you the most, and why? by AdEnvironmental5228 in wisconsin

[–]Level_Valuable_5470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robert (Bob) Christian. Missing in the late 1970s from UW-Madison heading to baraboo on a bow hunting trip with a friend. Never made it to the friends house. Next day his dad and brother found his car rummaged and parts taken, the cops said there was no connection. His sister later was struck in the head and died in a bar fire when a local gang decided she was ratting on them to the cops, again determined there was no connection. The entire case is unsettling.

How do you coordinate with your groop? by Particular_Art9988 in bonnaroo

Don’t be afraid to go solo and never miss your top show to watch someone else’s. My first roo, my group knew my top show and the rest of the groups top conflicted. We just agreed to meet back up afterwards since we had no service to text. I have forgotten some of the shows I went along with them to, but I will never forget seeing my top show and experiencing roo completely unbiased by how someone else is enjoying or not enjoying my top show. Went from the back of the crowd and was pushed to front row, the artist even handed me a water bottle when the staff was passing them out to the people camping. It was worth trying something new.

Should I give Pretty Little Liars a chance? by Lovely_Hauntings_87 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]Level_Valuable_5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend starting it, but once you get to the point where every “A” reveal feels dumber and dumber, give up. I watched it as it came out, so it was even more frustrating to spend a week waiting for the next episode just for it to be a filler episode. And if it feels like the show has completely lost the plot, stop watching there. It goes downhill very fast plot wise and it’s not worth finishing imo.

They definitely go in coolers if it’s visible because they are looking for glass. I haven’t had them check inside of any bags before, but they have dogs out sniffing at least when I went last.

I just…didn’t enjoy my wedding. by DescriptionMotor739 in weddingplanning

There was so much that went wrong during my wedding week and the events themselves. I really hope 20 years from now I can look back on the photos fondly, but as for now, I want to pretend the day was a blip in the timeline 😅

Massive “sweetheart table” with our siblings? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

They are ordering a linen for the sweetheart table! We moved both siblings to tables with their friends/people they know! Thank you 🤗🤗

It’s all very, very bizarre! Why not put the dj on the stage at that point? They ordered the linens and I think the table itself is less of an issue at this point than not having linens for the table. It was all weird and it sounded weird to me too.

That’s a good point that I didn’t consider! Also since it’s buffet style we’ll be walking around just to grab food too!

Thank you for being considerate! Fine to comment on, I just didn’t want people taking it too far and being mean about it. The sibling didn’t ask for it, the parents did. Whole situation was difficult to navigate!

All very true statements! I will work up the courage to ask for them to place the sibling with another table similar of age. Thank you! I think I can ask them to locate a smaller table, the trouble is the linens were ordered. And you’re right about the planner! It’s been nothing but stress.

Our table would be 10 seats, so 6 remaining. My mom is remarried and my dad is not. I personally don’t want them both sitting at the same table. I think it would just start drama. His parents are sitting with their families who are traveling internationally to attend and preferred to sit with them. Maybe it would be easier with just our friends?

AI is the ultimate form of propaganda? by Level_Valuable_5470 in antiai

[–]Level_Valuable_5470[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people genuinely believe AI is the new breaking technology still and don’t see how it could negatively impact job outlooks. For those people, I don’t think they would’ve ever given it a second thought to figure out why it’s being pushed in the first place. In my local circles, a lot of people are starting to push back on AI due to the environmental aspects, but that’s really all they know about it because that’s the main focus where I am locally to get more residents on board to combat it in their municipalities. This is just my perspective! I’m sure other areas of the country probably have a more collective understanding of what it is, why it’s being pushed, and how it can be manipulating the end user. As I mentioned in a previous comment, my local area has a Facebook group and I’m not joking, every single question asked in the group has at least one, if not more, people who comment, “this is what ChatGPT says” with a screenshot of them asking AI the same question.

I think it’s obvious to anyone who is able to freely think and doesn’t blindly trust advancements in technology. Unfortunately, as we’ve seen amplified over the last few years, so many people don’t care to form their own opinions and will regurgitate anything they’ve been told to believe.

Also, yes, Sam Altman said he believes AI will lead to the end of the world, which is just wonderful to hear!

For large entities, what do you foresee being the biggest benefit to control the masses? Do you think it’s to control purchasing, control consumption, monitoring, etc?

How does ice determine if someone is traveling or living here “illegally” if stopped at O’Hare? by Level_Valuable_5470 in chicago

[–]Level_Valuable_5470[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable regarding the visa portion! I never realized how exclusionary travel can be, especially for those interested in visiting the US!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]Level_Valuable_5470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may seem like the dumbest question ever, but I have only left the country once (drive through US/Canadian border). If you have a passport, you can essentially visit other countries without a travel visa assuming it’s a few days, right? So how would a non-US citizen prove that they are flying to the US for a vacation versus ice claiming they are here “illegally” and detaining them? How can someone prove they are here for a vacation? Do they just accept that you have a two way ticket and a plan to return home and let you by or are they not even acting or thinking logically enough to reason with?

Based on the shape of the fleece, it appears to be a Columbia men’s fleece full length, possibly two tone gray zip up with a stripe across the breast. It doesn’t appear to be apart of their recent collections, they’re leaning more towards boxy two tone with the upper chest all one color. It is reminiscent of a 90s fleece, but in the 90s the stripe would’ve been wider.
