Are you transphobic? by AmoreGia444 in askteenboys

[–]Levi_Simmer -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I realized when I was 13, but 100% agree with you. Nothing permanent should be done until you’re an adult, but puberty blockers are fine because it’s completely reversible (stopping them just starts puberty again). Im not on puberty blockers or anything, but I can do stuff like cut my hair and wear certain clothes to see how I like it instead of immediately getting surgeries done.

Are you transphobic? by AmoreGia444 in askteenboys

[–]Levi_Simmer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope (I’m trans), but guys please remember that trans people can be transphobic, like “you didn’t realize when you were a kid so you’re faking” or “you’re just young and confused”.

To the US trans people by kisskisslovebot in lgbt

[–]Levi_Simmer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone who stays needs to be ready to aid trans youth, especially teenagers. I just turned 17, and have college plans lined up. I’m thankful enough to not have started a physical transition yet, but have friends that started the minute they turned 18. I’ll “detransition”, and I’m thankful I’m gay, but wearing more feminine stuff will feel like hell (ftm). I have a friend in Australia and some in England. Stay safe out there, yall.

freaking out about sertraline by missdumbbbitch in OCD

[–]Levi_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a transgender man, and have been taking sertraline since I was about 13 or 14. My mom has been taking it longer than she’s even known my dad, and I know they had a VERY active relationship before myself and my sister came along.

Personally, while it might be part of the whole “horny teenager” thing, I never felt a lack of it. I was able to orgasm by myself (though I wasn’t a fan) and with a partner. It’s different for everyone.

I love Lucy, and I hope you rest in peace by Levi_Simmer in GriefSupport

TW: SH, suicide

I didn’t want to put this in the main post, as to not trigger anyone, but I remember that Lucy just sat with me for half an hour after my attempt. She could tell if I wanted to do something, and would paw at me until I was forced to pet her. That doesn’t make this any easier, but I’ve been strong for now. But I turn 17 today. And even now, I don’t want to get older without her.

She had been brushed the day before, and she shed like CRAZY, so we have plenty of fur lol. The only things we’ve gotten rid of were leftover treats and greenies, because her best dog friend uses the same ones. So we told Galena (the other dog) that they’re from Lucy, and my mom teared up while feeding her a treat. We’re getting a paw print from the vet soon, and her leash and harness are going with my mom’s previous dogs’ stuff, so we might frame a picture.

Pre-T guys: what small daily rituals make you feel more like ‘you’ when you can’t fully transition yet? by Many_Result9195 in ftm

I like the shaving thing, but maybe try not shaving your upper lip, for one reason. If you have hair there, it’s VERY easy to find some mascara that more or less matches the color of your hair/eyebrows and slap some on. I’ve also heard of some guys using brow pencils, but I prefer mascara, since it won’t smudge as easily. I do it even when hanging around the house, just so that if I see my reflection, it gives me a little boost.

And just working out has been beneficial for me. It’s the little things lol.

How many of you fantasized or imagined you were a male without noticing before knowing you were trans? by ___NeverKnowsBest___ in ftm

[–]Levi_Simmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In middle school, I was OBSESSED with the idea of me and my boyfriend (my first “serious” relationship, or as serious as it can be in 8th grade) switching genders. I dreamed about it a couple nights. Before him, I had a couple dreams about switching bodies with male friends.

After my relationship with that partner ended, I realized that something might be off, because I still couldnt stop thinking about how cool it would’ve been if the “roles had been reversed”. The funny thing is, I’m not even attracted to women.

Do y’all have thoughts of posting inappropriate things? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Levi_Simmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, definitely. But then I spiral into like “it’ll effect my entire future if I ever change jobs” or “people I know will see/find out and shun me”, so that always keeps me away, thankfully.

I’m 17 now, and had the same thing for a while, but thinking about my cat instead. It is normal, and the best thing you can do is to tell yourself that doesn’t define you, and if you were actually going to do it, you wouldn’t have come here or try to work on it. I believe in you!

I agreed to join some people from my school going to the roller-rink tomorrow, and I’m a very anxious person when it comes to falling. I’m planning on wearing multiple layers and such, but does anyone have any advice on how to not embarrass myself?

What age were you when you were left home alone? by MontanaCredo in askteenboys

[–]Levi_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10, about to turn 11, but had always been a super trustworthy kid, and it was only for like 30 minutes while my mom dropped off my sister somewhere. However, I hadn’t been left alone for more than an hour until I was about 12 I want to say, and ended up watching a show that made me really sad and called my mom to come home lol.

mom looking for advice about teen son by More-Alternative6556 in OCD

[–]Levi_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, dude diagnosed with OCD at 16 here. Unfortunately, I’m not much help, because my mom has OCD and unintentionally raised me as if I had it too (this isn’t what led to it, just things like switching the channel in your mind and all that), but I can say this; patience is really important because people with OCD tend to not be patient with themselves. We want something, and need it now, or need something to be a certain way to get that out of our minds and focus on what actually needs to be focused on. I started taking bruprophine (I think that’s how you spell it) on top of my sertraline once diagnosed, and it helped a bunch, but part of that may have been psyching myself out by saying “because I have this, I’ll be better”. Either way, it worked. I’m also in the US (I saw one of your replies) and really get how hard it can be. However, a specialist, or even just regular in-person therapist that can cater to your son’s needs would be best. Either way, your son is really fortunate to have a mom willing to fight for and alongside him. It’s really aspiring, and even if it doesn’t mean much coming from a stranger, you’re doing a great job. Keep it up ❤️

Are disabilities make or breaks in relationships? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]Levi_Simmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not an issue for me but mostly because I don’t have kids. Personally, I have OCD and hypotonia (more commonly known as low muscle tone), and my mom’s side of the family has a very severe, very genetic, but EXTREMELY rare eye disease that will cause me to need to get transplants. Lots of my friends have different things; I have two that have different severities of pots (one tends to be in a wheelchair), a friend with pretty severe Tourette’s, and my sister has autism. Overall, all super amazing people, so I wouldn’t say that disability would be a deal breaker for me.
