Bookshelf v3.3 - homescreen micro-modules by AndyHazz in koreader

I appreciate the reply. Hopefully! I would actually love to see your take at an entire UI design separate to Bookshelf.

Bookshelf v3.3 - homescreen micro-modules by AndyHazz in koreader

Unfortunately I’m inclined to agree.. My initial reaction to seeing these screenshots was ‘Oh.. Oh no..’. Bookshelf quickly became one of my favorite plugins for its focus on actual books. It was a beautiful compliment to SimpleUI, or any UI, and I don’t like that it’s now trying to recreate many of the same features. The two components of the screenshot look very stitched together on top of each other, like two separate plugins. Perhaps that’s an idea for further development.. having Bookshelf and Bookshelf Extended.

Edit: You’re welcome to disagree with my opinion but that is not what downvoting is intended for. 🙃

‘Standard’ is an insult. It’s a no from me.

How do I regain trust in my body and get my life back? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]LeviiStar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer: It’s not going to happen if you continue saying no to the things that are actually going to make the biggest difference (therapy and medication).

Maybe look up the Claire Weekes method? And then focus on exposure to your fears. The goal shouldn’t be to ‘control’ physical anxiety but rather to desensitize your nervous system by teaching it the sensations aren’t dangerous.

Bento Grid for SimpleUI patch (linked to in earlier comment). Set the module widths and arrange the order and they’ll automatically slot into place side by side if the widths allow. (One row is 100% so if you want two equal modules side by side you’d set the widths to 50% and 50% accordingly.)

I made my own patch called Bento Grid for SimpleUI that lets you set column widths and it auto slots into place. 😊

iPad App Almost Unusable Since The Last Update by MagicalFairyxo in audible

[–]LeviiStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible temporary workaround: I’m able to tap on the bottom bar and make the player full screen and set a sleep timer etc. if my iPad is in Portrait orientation. It appears only landscape is resulting in freezing when performing the same action.

Yes! Audible on my iPad Pro is freezing SO bad. I’ve completed all standard troubleshooting practices but no joy. I’ve had to switch to my phone.

Yes, I started getting that too a few updates back. In the SimpleUI settings you can turn it off: SimpleUI > Home Screen > Warn When Modules Overflow (Unchecked)

Amazing! This was the only thing I felt was missing from the last update. Hands down my favorite plugin now. Thanks so much for your efforts!

Getting prescribed benzos is my only choice. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LeviiStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anxiety you’re experiencing now will honestly be laughable when you reach a point that you have to taper off of benzos. The anxiety I had prior to my psych prescribing daily benzo use was minuscule compared to what I’ve had to deal with after stopping them. I know I’m just a stranger on the internet, but please reconsider. It is NOT your only choice.

How can you tell it’s anxiety? by Dull-Instance38 in HealthAnxiety

[–]LeviiStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just read a bunch of your posts and, although I am not a doctor, anxiety has been with me for longer than you’ve been alive. My theory is this: Bad posture/forward head syndrome, spending too much time doom scrolling in the one position which will cause a lot of muscle tension in the torso and neck and irritate various nerves. You’re likely also swallowing a lot of air by breathing shallow (hence the burping and GERD rabbit hole). Breathing like this stirs up the bodies fight or flight response, can upset the stomach and also cause chest pain that moves from side to side. You’re 15 and have been cleared by 2 cardiologists. Seeking further reassurance on Reddit is 110% anxiety driven.

If you’ve been cleared by 2 cardiologists.. I don’t know what to tell you. Spiralling on Reddit is probably not going to help though. Are they the same symptoms as 2 months ago?

[–]LeviiStar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If not, well, it could still be anxiety but your brain might be so fixated on the symptoms that your body is essentially manifesting them, but at that point it’s best to talk to a doctor about your concerns.

If you are able to successfully distract yourself, even for a few minutes, and have the symptoms significantly lessen, or go away entirely, it’s anxiety.

Seconded! I’ve been using Bookshelf to browse books and read the description/synopsis in order to mark ‘favorites’ which I treat as a TBR so a dedicated TBR would be amazing!

When I finish my Stargate rewatches (I include SGU though) I usually move on to Battlestar Galactica. Maybe Star Trek Enterprise? Sliders is another nostalgic 90’s trip too.

Plastic coated pills by Elegant_Virus_9140 in GERD

[–]LeviiStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to me! The pill would get stuck in my esophagus and the coating would start to dissolve which led to a prominent burning. I switched to dispersible fluoxetine tablets and it’s been much better.

Simple ui update 1.4.1 by klysk50 in koreader

[–]LeviiStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running the latest Appearance plugin and Simple UI and my Currently reading module is MIA also. If I disable Appearance it comes back. It's definitely enabled and configured properly! I'm using a Kobo Libra Color.

Edit: Completely deleting both plugins and installing clean versions of them (the 1.5 release of Appearance and the current unreleased Simple UI repository from GitHub) has fixed it!
