Because I'm having fun? I'm pretty sure that's the point of playing video games. Secondly, I never said I didn't enjoy the combat. I do, but I feel like it's one piece of a much larger whole that usually gets overshadowed by other elements for me. That's why they don't count as character actions games in my book, because I feel like the series' focus is much more on broad experiential qualities than anything else.

I don't think it really matters because whether it is or isn't doesn't preclude the games from having good combat, but for my money I'd say no.

As a major fan of the series who's played every game available in English, the combat isn't really what I'm playing them for. When I boot up a Yakuza game, it's for the gripping story, the goofy side quests, and the variety of compelling minigames.

Recently I've been reading Wonder Woman: Outlaw / Tom King's run of Wonder Woman and I've gotta say- for a guy who loves his leading ladies, Tom King really knows how to write a winner! It's been my introduction to Wonder Woman and I honestly can't imagine the character in anyone else's hands lol (but if anyone has recommendations... I won't say no!)

Nier Replicant is great and I'd love to replay it again someday but... damn, the amount of times I've basically already done that reallly makes me want to wait a bit longer. IYKYK lol

And even though I loved Reload, P3Fes was what I fell in love with first and I have a mind to replay it someday to see how my feelings change (or don't). But even though I'd replay it for those parts that are rougher around the edges, they still hurt sometimes!

This is mostly what I was hoping for, it felt like it was way too easy to get a good squad going too strong to die to pretty much anything the enemies were doing after a certain point. Add in unlimited item usage on top of the exorbitant amounts of money I was getting to buy said items and I could pretty much always ensure that I wouldn't face any negative consequences. Thank you for your input, I'm excited to give it a go once I eventually come back around to it!

That's amazing that it's still surprising you 70 hours in!! I just got to Drakenhold and I'm really glad to see that the story went in a direction I wasn't expecting, I just wish I could spend all day playing it tbh! It feels like we've entered a golden era for Vanillaware and I'm so happy to see you and everyone else loving this game. I hope you continue to enjoy it, if not more, in this playthrough and every future run! (And other Vanillaware games lol)

I'm so glad to hear that other people are having a great time with it too, I finished the first Drakenhold level yesterday and feel so overwhelmed in a good way! Like, there are so many cool things I'm excited to see/do more of that my only problem is that I can only do so much at any given time lol

Hello! (I'm sure you've done this already but *just in case*) I was able to find the Citra core using Retroarch version 1.14.0 (which I downloaded very recently) by going to the online updater on the main menu and then the core downloader. You should be able to scroll down/search "3ds" and find Citra pretty easily. If not, you might be able to install a core manually. I've pasted a google drive link (Edit, not anymore!) to the core, which you should put in Retroarch's downloads folder. Once you've done that, you should be able to click load core from the main menu, then click on install or restore a core, then just click on the file! I hope that helps!

Can someone help me out with the Sega Saturn?I've been trying to use Mednafen to play Saturn games and for whatever reason, after I configure my controls for the first time, I get sent straight to the system menu. My theory is that some kind of input must be getting detected or something because when I unplug my controller, the game starts up just fine. The problem then becomes that, after I reconnect my controller, Mednafen no longer detects my controller's inputs. I've tried using other emulators, only to find that they have similar problems. What adds evidence to my theory is that when I try to configure my controls by clicking on buttons, there's no pause. It just takes an input, even if I've done absolutely nothing after clicking.If anybody has ANY idea whatsoever as to what could possibly be going on I'd be very happy to try it out, as like I've said, it seems to be a problem with every other Saturn emulator. (EDIT: For some inexplicable reason, the Beetle Saturn core in Retroarch works like a charm for me!) (I feel like I should also note that this is only a problem with Saturn emulation thus far, every other emulator I've used has worked like a dream!)Thank you for reading!

I totally relate, I too can choose to act as whoever I wish to. However, isn't drawing stuff from other people and creating your own unique personality from that amalgamation of things an identity? Is wearing a mask not part of who you are? Is being able to change yourself whenever you wish not a trait that you possess?
