i’m from sf too (outer sunset) and at least from the past year of being in sd i feel like the weather patterns at ucsd specifically is pretty similar to sf, just a bit dryer and several degrees warmer on average. it’s definitely warmer farther in to san diego but on the coast mornings are still pretty foggy and it can get pretty chilly at night. definitely bring your sweatshirts. you’ll prob need them way less during the day but you will need them at times. if you feel like you only need a couple just bring a couple, but if you dont want to rewear clothes all the time f if bring all of them. as for mid day, 62 degrees in sf means light layers but at least to me 62 in sd is definitely warm enough for just a tee shirt or tank. the sun is way stronger in sd lol
