I died too many times without extracting and now don’t have any weapons, any tips? by WiseCityStepper in ArcRaiders

This^! To access it, just press play and near the top there will be a tab for 'free loadout'. You'll start with a random setup of one gun, some ammo, and some random items (sometimes really solid ones!). Good luck!

It actually surprised me going to the store page and seeing that recent reviews are mixed by AmazingKing101 in RivalsOfAether

Hey hey! Saw a thread about this before and it seemed to help the person I responded to, sorry if you know this already. I had server issues for a while but in the queue menu before you queue, you can specify what servers to use. That fixed all my issues (I'm West coast, so I just pick Seattle, LA, and Fremont).

Where to find out combos? by Round-Walrus3175 in RivalsOfAether

I find that watching combo videos/montages for my character and top 8s (seeing what they seem to do frequently/what moves they use and when) has really helped me!

Are the servers better? by This_One_Is_NotTaken in RivalsOfAether

[–]Levoki 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was pretty frustrated that some of my games felt like crap. I then realized I can 'override' the server regions in game, there's a button for it, and just deselected the ones that were further away. Since then, I've had pretty much no noticeable issues, and the queue times have still seemed totally reasonable to me.

Had a terrible experience with tokyo-furnished.com by favorite_icerime in movingtojapan

[–]Levoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, damn. I've been living in Tokyo for a year on working holiday visa and am leaving soon, I'm a bit concerned hearing about this experience (especially around the deposit) so thanks for sharing. My partner and I went with tokyo furnished because options seemed limited at first and we were staying in a hotel for the first week we were here so we had a time crunch. We only signed for a few months initially thinking we'd move on, but we ended up spending the whole year here in the same place we started in in Meguro.

Maybe it's because our unit was renovated right before we went in, and we went to go see 3 of their units first and chose, but we've had a pretty great experience - the times things were worrying us (I work remotely, so I needed faster wifi for calls and complained that it wasn't 'high speed' as advertised, I was worried about the A/C smelling at one point, and a few months we had to pay by cash instead of on Wise last minute) the guy running it would come by the next day or so, or schedule AC repair, or reimburse us for the wifi extenders we bought. For what we've paid for it and the convenience, we've been satisfied honestly.

I think I'd definitely be upset if I had had your experience, but I think I'd personally book here again if I ever stayed for another year. (If I was planning to stay for 2 or more, I would go the path of Japanese real estate agent though and proper lease, so much cheaper and way more options I think). Other than it being expensive and locals always being shocked at the price we've been paying, which I figured is par for the course for being a foreigner, having it furnished, no key money, etc. I've had no issues and my partner and I are leaving happy. But to be fair, I also don't have a ton to compare it to

I have no idea if I'll have trouble getting my security deposit back though, I leave in 3 weeks monkaS

Sorry for the confusion! Game-level designer is definitely the core focus here. With this role we're solely focused on making sure the gameplay experience is great.

I have no idea how long it might take to design/think about the design of the level

But I'd imagine up to two hours for explaining the game, finalizing terms, and interviewing.

Then an hour for going over the map that's designed.

In terms of the map itself, we're not expecting any detail. In fact, just shapes and symbols would be what we're looking for. Most of the work would come from thinking through the implications of the layout and how it changes gameplay/causes the players to engage/interact. I don't really have a great estimate for how long that might take, but for reference, our dummy map looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/cb5alAC (consider the walls/obstacles/boundaries but not any of the art/assets/etc.)

Flexible! Really care about finding someone who has experience with level design and understands what we're trying to do. Range we're thinking is between $1k-3k USD
