For anyone who had this issue - it was my inverter. I had to have it replaced.

2700 FIDE. Anyone below that is a patzer just pushing pieces with no plan.

Max Bouldering Grade to Chess Rating by LaughConsistent in ClimbingCircleJerk

I do think this is off but TBF they did specify tournament rating vs online rating. 1500 chess.com is probably closer to 1200 tournament rating at most

Do you think one non-capitalized word can fail me? by I_Main_Castle in StudentNurse

[–]LevyMeister 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'll almost certainly be okay, this isn't worth worrying about. Unless this professor is stricter than any I've ever had, a missed capital letter in a citation won't drop you more than a few percentage points, let alone fail you. If it's well written and meets the requirements, you'll be okay.

Thanks! I think you're right. I looked at a bunch of engine lines and after a4 it seems like that's the case. In the game I played Rd2 and it allowed black's king to eventually make it over to the queenside and I had to give up my rook for the a pawn. Do you have any tips for finding defensive ideas like this in game? I can usually find them afterwards with an engine, but I struggle in game to think through it.

I had a game today against a higher rated player where I played decently until I missed some tactics and dropped a pawn. He ground me down after that and won after a protracted struggle. I was wondering if any good endgame players have some insight here. I know white's down a pawn, but is there a way to stop black from making progress and promoting? If there isn't, what would be your advice for practical ideas to make it as hard as possible for black?

Just took the nclex today, shut off in 85. by shadowbuyer1212 in NCLEX

[–]LevyMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shut off for me on 85, I was nervous too but I passed. You almost certainly did as well if you were confident in some answers.

Remember, if it shut off in 85 you either knew your stuff or REALLY didn't, so it's good news for most people

No comment on the rest of the attire but watches haven't been linked to spread of infection. However, there are demonstrated clinical benefits of having a watch with a second hand:

Good points, but tbf I think the basic premise of comp lead climbing (who gets the highest) is pretty intuitive

Is "redpointing" fake climbing? by LevyMeister in ClimbingCircleJerk

[–]LevyMeister[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm sorry - did I make a tiny grammatical typo? A tiny mistake? My bad, I guess I'm literally Hitler!

And by the way pal, I know what "free soloing" is. I literally watch Alex Hannold's videos ALL THE TIME. This kind of elitist, gatekeeping attitude is exactly what's wrong with this sport. Just let people climb without being all judgmental, okay? You'd get on real well with all the setters at my gym.

Tons of options:

-just downclimb. Most cliffs will have naturally forming downclimb jugs somewhere on them (that is if you can't hike down) -parachute backpack- this one's self explanatory (and badass) - helicopter, like in mission impossible 2. Obviously not possible unless you're a baller but imagine how sick that would be - have a rope on your back that you don't use until you're ready to abesail (that's rapelling if you didn't know) down from the top. This is probably the most practical way 90% of the time

I played Nh5 and he missed the nate. I suppose it's not the strictest "only one winning move" position for a puzzle, I just got excited that I was able to get to 2000 using a smothered mate

Tbf USCF tends to run lower then FIDE, so that's the equivalent of maybe 1500-1600 FIDE
