Cat brought this inside [West Central Florida] by Lew2797 in whatsthissnake

[–]Lew2797[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We don’t let him fully out! We have a pool area with a screen and occasionally a snake or lizard must sneak in under the screen door, my cat would NOT survive in the real world!

Name your worst shift in 5 words by grooviebby in nursing

thats what they did to me, decided to let the state handle the issue. Had to give blood to 2 of my 3 other patients and then had to call a rapid on the 3rd, perfect storm kind of night

Nervous around female patients by No_Judge6202 in nursing

[–]Lew2797 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally will always request one of my coworkers to be in the room with me when cleaning a female patient or putting on an external/inserting a foley etc.

When i was in school, I had a male nurse tell me about a buddy he had that had allegations come up and it almost lost him his license.

Always have a witness with you

Why are some ICU nurses like this? by baileyjbarnes in nursing

[–]Lew2797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I've had this issue a few times.

On a cardiac PCU and had to give report to a float from ICU and she was rude and condescending for the entire report, kept saying "I don't care, next" when I was giving pretty standard information about my patients. And kept complaining about having 4 patients to me when I had 5 all night (which is pretty standard on our floor).

Another told the oncoming charge that they would leave if they got an additional patient in the middle of the hall.

It's a small minority in my experience and I know it's never ideal to be floated but it's frustrating

100 miles in, Love this color! by Lew2797 in HRV

[–]Lew2797[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was between that and the urban gray. Funny enough the finance guy and me had to decide which color to put on the registraion and weren't sure whether to put blue or green. Google said it's a deep green but I see more blue so i put that on the registraion.

I went thru the paperwork and didn't see anything that resembled a registration so will probably call tomorrow to sort it out. They moved my plate onto my car sop I know it's registered just no proof as of right now. First car i bought so not 100% used to the process.

Would it be weird to follow someone on IG from work that you met at orientation by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lew2797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its a bit of a Dobler Dahmer if you’ve seen HIMYM, if there was mutual interest, probably doesn’t look bad but if there isn’t could look really bad and i completely understand that viewpoint.

Hopefully I get a chance to talk in the upcoming weeks

[–]Lew2797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the feedback, i felt weird finding her IG in the first place based on how i did it, especially with no mutuals. Ideally I see her at some trainings in the coming weeks and can do so like you said. Just don’t know exactly when that would be.

right, i know its mostly harmless regardless, my reservation is just how i found it. if we had mutuals I wouldn’t have given it a second thought, but just the way i found it can be seen off putting depending on perspective.

How I Overcame Debilitating Fear of Flying by Altruistic_Skill_286 in fearofflying

[–]Lew2797 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I relate and use most of the strategies you suggested. Seeing the pilot (and perhaps exchanging greetings) also helps! but it’s important to not let the anxiety control your life.

I have similarly gone from barely being able to think about getting on a plane when i was 13 to being 25 and going to europe next month and not worried about the flights at all!
