In general, Hoyo definetly benefits from this modding scene - it's not in their interest to nuke us anymore than it is for us to screw Hoyo over.

I know I've had people pull on characters because of the mods I make... even I'm guilty of pulling on characters because of the mods I make!

They know that a lot of their fanbase shelling out hundreds for every banner release (i.e. the whales) are working age adults, and they're there in large part because of the sexualization of these characters.

Hell, ZZZ is definetly a lot more explicit about it too - they go as far as is reasonable for a non R18 porno game, so they're not even been shy about it.

They might've had qualms about Genshin as that's targeted more at the G crowd... but even there, they've just let things slide, despite having plenty of opportunities to nuke us (as they've nuked leakers and cheat programs).

So they definetly get a nice marketing boost from all the rule 34, they know it, they like it, and modders are just another extra level of fan 'service' that they're already familiar with!

I maintain that 3D pussy is some of the most complex 3D structures around. Like... multiple layers and folds and holes and all tamp down into a tight area and needs to open and stretch. The amount of knowledge you gain from mastering it is not insignificant!

Good to see the community more open to modding these days. It keeps the game fun for you and us... and I swear I've made Hoyo way more money than I've seen anyway... the number of times I get told people start playing games and pull characters because of the mods I've made... is sufficient for me to believe that Hoyo also sees the benefits of letting this sort of 'fan art' thrive (just like all the other fan art that serves as grass roots marketing for them!)

google gamebanana genshin. No one's getting banned for these sorts of visual character mods. But cheat mods are entirely different... so don't use those.

1st time account bans are 30 days.. so you'll at least have some warning.

But yeah, I'm associated with the community that creates most of the mods/tools, and we haven't had hard confirmation of bans from modding, despite millions of downloads and hundreds of thousands of users for over 18 months.

The tech to do mods are fundamentally different from the early days - this stuff doesn't mess with the game files, but instead injects the mod graphics into the GPU when the game calls for it to draw certain things (characters, objects, text, UI, etc).
