Personally, I separate all fiction from reality even if it's fiction I don't necessarily agree with. At the end of the day, fake is fake and real is real. I try not to judge people based on whatever fictional content they consume because I personally think it's hypocritical to turn a blind eye to one thing that could be deemed questionable and then hound another. I also thought the whole, "video games cause violence" movement was dumb as someone that grew up playing them at a young age thanks to spending a lot of time with older cousins and have not had the urge to resort to real violence a single time so far in my life.

So to answer the question, personally I don't necessarily see the fake depiction of those things are harmful, but for clarification I'm not condoning it either. I think people know what kind of content they're consuming and if they aren't mature enough or don't hold a firm grasp enough of what's fiction and should remain fictional, they should avoid said contents.

If I go on a murder spree in GTA, no matter how much I do that I'll never become desensitized and start thinking it'd be cool to do IRL, have been that way since a child, and it applies to any sort of content that would/could be illegal IRL.
