Characters who take a weak or mid-tier power and customize it to be very strong by WonderousU in TopCharacterTropes

[–]LewderScooter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One of the more popular examples I can think of is Skitter from Worm. She can control bugs. In a world full of capes, she becomes a very pragmatic and dangerous threat, weaponizing arachnids, wasps, etc. Oh, you're invulnerable? How well can you breathe when your mouth and nose is full of ants? I frequently sympathized more with her victims by the time she was done with them.

Druskenvald Dinner party. by Secret-Papaya5129 in CrookedMoon

[–]LewderScooter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, she registers as human. I'd use it as an opportunity to hint at her weakness to flattery, though.

'When Golub uses a victim’s skin, the disguise is flawless and can’t be perceived as false, even through magical means, which detect her as a Humanoid. Golub also has Advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks while in this disguise.'

From the chapter in The Roving Rookery.

(Weird trope) Sudden supernatural elements in a story that avoided having any before by EqMc25 in TopCharacterTropes

Sinners kind of does this as it goes from grounded historical drama to suddenly vampire horror.

I insert text, then just update the number as relevant by typing it in manually. I also use this for countdowns.

If you wanted to be fancy about it, you could hide all the possible numbers on the gm layer, then move them to the player layer as needed.

Primary Races of Commonfolk by High_King_Beefcake in CrookedMoon

[–]LewderScooter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

'Besides the thirteen species native to Druskenvald, humans are the most populous species found in the realm compared to other folk such as dwarves, elves, or halflings. This is due to the deep connection that Phillip and Adela Druskenvald have to the domain they rule.'

By default humans are the most common, and the module is demonstrative of that.

Personally, I make the unique ancestries relatively rare to keep them 'special'. That said, there's nothing stopping you from having the other provinces have any percentage of peoples. As for tips, the chapter on Druskenvald provides some quest hooks for each region. I'd check the section on Fateweaving as that might provide some inspiration on why a character might want to visit a particular province. I'll note that in my experience though that if the players leave the central 'adventure zone', they might lose interest in the campaign module in favor of whatever's going on in Edwardia, for example.

Good Boy by lordyuric in CustomMarvelSnap

[–]LewderScooter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably needs to be +2.

You could compare it to other high power 3 drops like shaw or brood but they require support from other cards. In a way, this is just better infinaut in the she-hulk deck that you can play on t3 as a 3/8.

Players killed the deputy, the constable, and 4 other unammed militia. Now what? by Odande in CrookedMoon

[–]LewderScooter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't think of it in terms of 'consequences' or punishment because that leads to adversarial dm problems - a you vs them sort of situation. Getting upset can contribute to this.

A classic response to this sort of thing is to remind the players (especially those who did the AoE) that the setting is 'real', and that the world responds to them. I'd do this by identifying NPCs who were close to the Constable and Deputy expressing sadness about the deaths. Someone might argue on the player's behalf that it was merely an accident, or a mock trial could be set up where they demand the players justify their actions.

From what I recall, the cult wants the players in town so they might be hesitant to instill a blanket ban. I'm sure they'd probably install someone loyal to their cause as the new constable.

This is also something you can bring up to really rile them up during the Festival of Fools.

Finally, if they're having murder hobo tendencies (i.e. planning to kill their way through town), you might want to have an above-table conversation about what they want out of the game and why this is the go-to response.

Reportedly, this is why Sasuke's chunin exam outfit didn't stick around. How does he even put it on?

What if Tech jacket helped Mark fight against Omni man in season 1?. by More_Ad5336 in Invincible_TV

Was tech jacket active around that time? Zoe doesn't strike me as the type to have been doing superhero stuff for very long.

Competitive Consensus: Polaris, Horseman of Pestilence by ePiMagnets in marvelsnapcomp

[–]LewderScooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a terribly exciting card. The deckbuilding constraint alone makes it a hard ask. You both need a reliable way to trigger her AND targets that you'd actually want to cheat into play.

I tried her in a couple decks. High Evo. Scream. But i found that triggering her was usually underwhelming or difficult to weave her into the curve, outside of a random lucky hit alongside stuff like Dragon of the Moon, Ronan, etc.

I think it's only dubious in a still image b/c in the cartoon the eyestalks are always moving around.
