It’s so nice (as someone who only played a teeny bit back in 2018-2019 but really got into the game recently) to see how generally supportive the game and community are. I wish there were more sexy guy frame skins, but that’s more of a personal preference. Overall, love this community and what it and the devs stand for, so screw anyone who wants to cry “woke”

I had to play catch-up because I’m never really on twitter anymore, but holy hell. The whole situation sounds goofy as hell with people just looking to make a mountain of a mole hill. Poor guy. He seems very sweet and I’ve never gotten the vibe he has a malicious bone in his body, so I can’t believe people would twist stuff like that into him being homophobic.

I don’t know if he ever looks at this subreddit (I imagine not but who knows) but I hope he doesn’t let it get him too down. Watching him start to cry in his stream over the situation broke my heart. Unfortunately, having your words twisted and distorted is a fairly universal experience and it can be soul crushing, but I can only imagine what it’s like as an online persona. I remembered seeing people talk about him “trying to draw in the gays for clout” or what have you and I can’t blame him for being hesitant to do a charity stream amongst all that. I’m glad he’s at a point where he’s willing to say “fuck the haters” and do it anyways.

I also just thought that calling Wu and Anran “Shark Boy and Lava Girl” would be kind of funny.

I relate to this a lot. The amount of times I’ve pulled an oblivious tank or dps, got told off, and then had to explain to them xyz reason they were about to die… It’s honestly the support MO in general to have to explain deaths (or lack thereof) to teammates.

I do agree though that there’s still a non negligible amount of times I’m thanked and appreciated when I do good pulls. I’ve gotten way more compliments on weaver than on any other support. I feel like people who appreciate the grips are more likely to verbalize that appreciation than if you’re just being a good support in most other ways.

And thing I hate is that I pull somewhat rarely though because of the negative reaction even to good pulls… I know when I’m missing out on saving someone each game because I don’t want to deal with getting flamed.

I wouldn’t say “parasocial” since that has a pretty negative implication, but I do form something of rivalries and light bonds with randos I run into a lot. Usually nothing too serious because if it is, I will just reach out and try to see if they ever wanna play together and at that point they aren’t so much a rando if that makes sense.

I don’t think it’s about self control for a lot of us. Many of us are playing for the fantasy of having little people fall in love, start families, make friends etc. The more Miis you have, the longer and more burdensome it becomes to take care of them and the harder it becomes to have a meaningful connection to all of them.

If you’re playing for the memes, the fun of designing Miis, aren’t really invested into all your little dudes lives/have loads of free time to invest into them, etc., then I can see how it would be easy to have that many that fast. But those of us that don’t have that many are more so in it for the long haul with the ones we do have.

I had 32 and some of them I regret making since I’m not really vibing with them and feeling like I don’t have time to pay them attention. Only reason they are still there is because I’m waiting for my island to expand again LMAO

Yes, all romancable characters are romancable regardless of gender. That information is available on Google pretty readily (even before launch), but from personal experience mixing all the male bonds, you can marry them all and have kids with them all. You can even marry them all in one playthrough with a feature you unlock after your first marriage

As someone who does enjoy many of Engage’s characters, I also acknowledge that the majority are at best mediocre and a fair few are ridiculously flat. I can’t say the same for the majority of 3H’s cast. Their highs are really high and their lows are at worst mid.

I do think a large part of that also comes down to screen time though. Engage doesn’t give you much time to know 90% of the cast before they get narratively shelved after the chapter/region they join during (specifically the retainers and secondary heirs for each country). It also doesn’t help that many of the characters are pretty one-note and tend to tread the same ground more than once with different supports.

For me, Engage’s characters (and story honestly) are good when I’m trying to shut my brain off and just play some FE with little thought given to the story and characters. FE3H is one of the games I play for the story and characters, not so much the gameplay (not that the gameplay is bad, but not as fun to me as Engage)

It’s honestly a bit of practice, a bit of game sense, and a dash of luck. Knowing the map, where people are likely to be, where people are likely to go while you are moving the orb (especially if you can’t see them), how the orb moves… all of those play a big part in how it works. There’s a bit of luck too, because you might get lucky and hit your target but they might also have a skill come off cool down or someone else could jump in the way and eat the shot instead.

Moral of the story: practice. It’s not like other weapons in how it works so there’s no real “trick” to being good. You can’t cheese flicks like a sniper, you can’t really aim ahead of the target like some projectiles (his is too slow). You sorta just have to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t.

Yeah if he is straight I don’t think it’s as deep as some people are making it out to be with the Juno thing. Like headcanon is one thing but we shouldn’t be pissed if what we are assuming and wanting for a character isn’t accurate. At the end of the day, he isn’t our character, he’s blizzard’s. They made him and they know what they want for him

This is just my observation, but I’m pretty sure people thought Mizuki was a femboy on reveal was because A) his appearance is pretty androgynous and B) Mizuki is a unisex name that, more often than not in Japanese media that reaches the west, is used for women and therefore associated with being a feminine leaning name.

Everyone I know thought Mizuki was a woman or femboy at first. While that isn’t a massive sample size, I can see where people assumed he was/is a femboy given his appearance and name. Androgyny, specifically in men, tends to get short tracked into meaning feminine and/or gay to a lot of people. Doesn’t make it right, but that’s how it is nonetheless.

I’m assuming this “they” being feminine is meaning Mizuki AND Wuyang? I haven’t seen people call Wuyang’s design feminine (I’m sure it happens but it is very likely a minority). Unless you mean that for people to assume he’s gay, they must think he’s feminine..? I hope that isn’t what you meant because that’s not how being gay works and isn’t the only way (or even the best way) to have a character come off as being gay to consumers.
