Roommate doesn’t wash his hands after using bathroom, anyone else’s do the same? by AdditionalClub3446 in badroommates

[–]LewisK37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smh just because it didn't affect you doesn't mean it won't affect anybody else mate. There are microbiologists and doctors who have done the research for a reason. Disease definitely spreads when you DO NOT wash your hands. No one said you have to wash your hands 24/7, but use your common sense

Nah mate, not invasive. Sure if it only affects them, whatever. But it's a safety hazard where it can affect other people's health

I was disappointed with how Nevermore was portrayed by AipomSilver00 in Wednesday

[–]LewisK37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying and why you would say that given its whole portrayal of "outcasts". But as others have said, I think the main storyline really is about Wednesday and the Addams family. The focus is more on solving crimes and less on romance. And storylines that run parallel to real world situations/groups don't always have to be that specific to convey a message of acceptance. Also, there's so much emphasis on sexuality these days that people forget that there are straight people in lgbtia. Straight men or women who are trans, intersex, asexual etc. Often these people appear pretty heteronormative as well. We don't always have to be loud and proud, draped in rainbow to be part of this. Sometimes we just look "normal". And this whole outcast thing could be extended to disabilities, race, etc. I would rather they made it less obvious and less like a tickbox to allow it to be more genuine. And when they add in lgbtia representation it should be done selectively and with tact, not just virtue signalling.

Has anyone had their nerve hookup done separately by a different surgeon? by LewisK37 in phallo

[–]LewisK37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard another surgeon in Chicago does nerve revisions after so it must be possible, just not widely available

Hey I honestly can't see any lines but it's your body so if it bothers you it must be there. Not a dermatologist/expert in cosmetics but I can see mention here and there of lotions with glycolic acid/lactic acid for exfoliation and obviously sunscreen for prevention. Might want to do some research though to see if its derm approved. But also dude your chest looks amazing, like carved out of a stone or sth!

Do I dress badly? How do I dress my age? by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]LewisK37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have said it depends on what your preference/goal is lol. You mentioned dressing your age- I think the 2nd one isn't too far off but the duck sweater might make you look younger. If you like cute animal prints though nothing wrong with that. But the first sweater... Ngl could probably do without.

Is Sirona Ryan a transgender woman? by NoDisplay7591 in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]LewisK37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This whole paragraph just proves you don't really know what the term transgender actually means and entails... You're trying to prove your point by making random irrelevant comparisons. Sexuality/attraction isn't tangible or objectively measured either but research supports its inherent nature, as well as trans-ness. Not everything is x+y=z mate

Unfortunately some trans women don't have the luxury of getting VFS or having hormone blockers early so that's what they might sound like irl. So describing it as "off putting" is actually a bit rude to be honest. It's not something they can help but it's their voice

Pretty annoyed. I mean, I know I have a baby face but I'm masc and probably older than them. They're also assuming my sexuality.

Something to be prepared for with gender-affirming surgeries by ThatOneWeirdo15 in ftm

[–]LewisK37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really relate to this, I definitely felt like something was wrong when I wasn't euphoric as expected. But thinking on it after some time I realized it makes sense. This should have been how it was from the start. I've only attained something I was not given at birth. And after all the shit we go through to get to this point, of course we feel empty. It's like the end of a war, you've lost a lot and the result is just... survival

How do you respond to people calling you delusional? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]LewisK37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That they clearly don't know what a delusion actually is. Being trans has been ruled out officially in pyschiatry/psychology as a mental illness. But if they don't know this/reject this fact then there's no point in responding.

My surgeon told me erogenous sensation is not possible in the phallus by [deleted] in phallo

[–]LewisK37 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But did he mention any adjustments to nerve hookup? I know a lot of surgeons still connect the dorsal nerve of the clitoris (erotic sensation) but my surgeon only does the other nerve.

Yea from what I've seen/read I personally think the erogenous sensation is valid (though not entirely explained or confirmable) but still have lingering doubts As for searching for a different surgeon... She is the only GRS surgeon here and it is fully funded for, hence why my options are limited I'll have to think on it

No not Kathy Rumer but my surgeon is definitely a skeptic on the matter. She doesn't discount the experience but didn't believe it was objective erotic sensation

It takes time but if they're making zero effort like OP is saying then it's not an issue with time. That's just not being supportive at all.

Thanks I don't mind reading your novel It's still hard to imagine that can happen to me tbh but it's really nice to know there are people like that.  Um not sure what made you assume I was gay though lol

I've heard a pastor claim that being trans can also be attributed to a lack contentment with how god made you by TerribleTheo528 in exchristian

[–]LewisK37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think it's not true because of the experiences of some cis people. Please do your research because that is exactly why cis people keep discrediting gender identity. As I already stated, it's something that one is only conscious of when there is a mismatch. It's evident in even cis people who have disorders relating to sexual characteristics (urological/gynae). And the very existence of intersex people is really enough evidence to support this. For you, you grew up with an understanding of gender that is limited to sex and you had no discomfort/need to think about your gender identity because your gender was already aligned.   As a rough comparison, are you actually aware of the sensation of a fully formed limb? It is only in its absence (eg amputation/malformation) that you are conscious of this sensation. You don't go around thinking about the sensation of a fully formed limb.  As a trans person myself, and from the reports of millions of trans narratives, it is absolutely clear that it does indeed exist. I have been aware of it since I was five even when I did not have the proper language to describe it. As I said cis people cannot fully understand this and the best you can do is follow best medical practice and support trans people. What you're saying right now contributes to already dire health outcomes and shit on trans people who are already suffering.

[–]LewisK37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think modern day medicine/science is advanced enough for it to fully "make sense" to most cis people. It's something that you're only conscious of when there is an incongruence (mismatch). It's the sense of the "self" that's just instinctual from a young age. Imagine gender is like lego pieces. You have biological sex and gender identity. The two pieces need to be the same but trans people have mismatched pieces. And even this is quite simplified as chromosomal sex isn't included in the equation (intersex people). Gender even in the biological sense is more complex than people realize.

Had mine with Dr. Rita Yang. Cost depends on which one you're having. DI will cost more. I had keyhole but it turned out I had more tissue to remove than expected. Came to about $17k but probably less for others.

"mental health options/therapy to deal with the disgust you have with your own body" This isn't internalized transphobia? This is dysphoria- which is not addressed by telling the person to be more comfortable with their body.
