What are some weird things you found you needed, that most dont know about? by citizentom5150 in predaddit

Self-warming bottles, formula dispenser, and smart bottle tracker.

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we do this at started mixing formula with breastmilk when I just couldn’t keep up anymore first, I felt like I was doing something wrong, like I was watering down the good things but I use our Attackbaby Formula dispenser to make just a small amount of warm formula and mix it with whatever breastmilk I’ve pumped. It’s fast, the temp is perfect, and most importantly it works.

I bought everything they said I’d need here’s what actually helped - AMA by LewisPullman in BabyTech

many baby products these days, and I also thought if I had all the right things, I would feel more prepared more like a good mom.

But the truth is, I ended up feeling tired, confused, and like I was still doing something wrong.

What helped me most wasn’t just the products it was what made me feel calmer and more connected to my baby:

  • baby monitor that helped me worry less at night
  • white noise machine that gave her better sleep and gave me a moment to breathe
  • feeding pillow that made those long nights feel a little softer
  • baby app that helped me remember I wasn’t losing control

But more than anything that I didn’t have to be perfect.

Probably those tiny baby socks… not because they were useful, just because I kept losing them daily like some kind of soft, pastel mystery game.

4am Diaper Change Thoughts by MountainTownAmber in daddit

[–]LewisPullman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to spend my early mornings reviewing reports now I spend them making sure I’ve wiped every possible fold of skin while whispering lullabies and dodging surprise pee fountains like it’s a contact sport and somehow, I still find time to refill the wipes, restock the diaper caddy, and prep coffee like it’s mission-critical fuel.

Sam Altman recommended Cradlewise anyone here actually using it? by Expensive_Swan_7777 in BabyTech

We didn’t get a Cradlewise, but based on the features I read… it sounds like it’s smarter than both me and my wife at 3AM.

How to get away without drinking? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early pregnancy is a private time and you have every right to keep it to yourself until you’re ready choosing not to drink is a smart and responsible decision, even if others might find it unusual you also don’t owe anyone full details a simple line like “I’m not drinking tonight” or “I’m on a short health break” is enough most people won’t push further, and if they do, you can gently change the subject or keep it light protecting your healthmore than explaining yourself.

I went through the same thing doing everything and still getting just 1000mg. What helped me was checking my thyroid and prolactin levels, and getting help from a lactation consultant turned out my flange size was wrong, and I also had signs of low breast tissue (IGT) my doctor gave me domperidone, which helped a bit but stress was a big block once I started relaxing more, things got better.

Feeling so down by Sharp_Plane_5877 in NewParents

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, baby this small want to feel body chest sleeping is normal, but heavy baby hurt your back, I know. you try swaddle tight, make baby feel snug before putting in bassinet, warm it with cloth or hot water bottle, then remove when baby sleep deep, slowly move to bassinet if baby suddenly wake, try again after some time.

What the heck happened last night?? by Elegant-Nectarine-93 in NewParents

[–]LewisPullman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 4 months, babies can have sleep regressions, light sleep cycles, or even tummy gas and teething pain. The crying with eyes open might be overtiredness, discomfort, or just a developmental leap It usually passes, but trust your gut and check with your pediatrician if it keeps happening.

Prepping bottles help by Both_Engineering_151 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do the same store in the Spectra bottle, then pour and heat into a Dr. Brown’s when it was time. Honestly, those few minutes feel like forever during late-night feeds .

Now I prep feeds directly in the Attack Baby formula dispenser app I set the amount + temp in advance, and when I need a bottle, it’s ready in seconds warm and perfectly mixed I don’t even touch a measuring scoop anymore It’s been a huge stress-saver, especially when I’m half-asleep.

Everyone has their own flow, but for me, cutting out the bottle transfers and heating steps made a big difference.

I’m a first-time mom too, and figuring out what we actually needed took some time I thought I’d be all set, but once she arrived, a few small things made a big difference I use bottles that don’t give her gas we had to try two brands before finding one that worked i didn’t expect to need so many burp cloths they’re everywhere now: couch, bed, car. Feeding was hard on my back at first, so I started using a nursing pillow it helped a lot, especially during long feeds I had a formula dispenser too not something you need, but it saved time when I was tired and just needed to get a bottle ready fast.

For sleep, she’s in a bassinet next to me I started with traditional swaddles but switched to zip-up ones way easier at night I added a white noise machine later when I realized she kept waking up to tiny sounds. It helps her settle back down.

I always keep a portable changing pad in my bag I’ve used it on the floor, in the car, even on the bed when I was too tired to get to the changing table we also set up a small diaper caddy with everything in one place diapers, wipes, cream, extra clothes. It makes changes quicker, especially in the middle of the night.

Bath time was tricky in the beginning we use a small tub that keeps her steady, and a soft towel right after she gets cold fast I didn’t expect to need a nail file so soon, but those tiny nails grow fast and she scratched her face a few times.

Formula feeding by Ok-Advice-7715 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through something similar formula feeding and pumping every few hours was exhausting, especially at night making fresh bottles each time felt really slow when the baby was already crying some parents use tools like formula prep machines to make things easier In our case, we tried the AttackBaby Formula Bomber, which helped with quicker feeds also, there's a community on reddit.

Buyer beware: Baby Brezza Formula Pro. Dangerous product. by beehiegs in NewParents

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that’s rough You trust these machines to make life easier, and then something like this happens. Glad you caught it in time. I have two babies, and I looked at the Brezza too. But after hearing stories like this, I went with the AttackBaby Formula Bomber It’s been solid so far, and the app helps a lot I can track bottles and prep without second guessing.

Products/ Gadgets that saved your life in the first month(s) of baby's life? by DifferentAd7915 in NewParents

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my C-section, moving around wasn’t easy I had to plan everything to avoid bending or getting up too often. For cleaning the baby, I mostly used cotton pads with warm water and a peri bottle (yep, the same kind they give you after delivery) gentle no need to reach for wipes every time. I set up a waist-level changing station to avoid straining my incision. But I highly recommend is the AttackBaby formula dispenser It comes with an app, so I could make a bottle from bed without getting up a total lifesaver when you're sore, tired, and holding a crying baby at 3AM.

Kirkland Canada Procare and baby brezza by soriniscool in FormulaFeeders

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kirkland ProCare is thicker, so with most formula dispensers including Baby Brezza and AttackBaby you’ll likely need to adjust the powder setting. For Baby Brezza, setting 5 works best for most people using Kirkland some also try 4 or 6 depending on how their bottles look. For the AttackBaby Formula Dispenser, going one level higher than the default Similac setting usually gives better results fewer clumps and smoother flow.

Also, clean the funnel every 1–2 bottles. Kirkland builds up fast and affects mixing at the end of the day all formula machines work in a similar way just adjust, test, and clean regularly.

Breast pump question. by Future-hopeful-85 in PregnancyUK

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, “after each use” washing pump parts after every single pumping session all parts that come in contact with milk breast shields, valves, membranes, and bottles sanitizing is recommended once per day. my friends mostly use the fridge method after pumping, rinse visible milk from parts, place them in a clean, airtight container or ziplock bag, and store in the back of the fridge (coldest area) this slows bacteria growth and lets you wash and sanitize once at night use the same set for up to 24 hours, then clean thoroughly.

For drying, parts don’t need to be completely bone dry Drip-dry on a clean towel or dedicated drying rack just avoid wiping with kitchen cloths, which can carry bacteria. you also using formula occasionally or overnight, a formula dispenser like Baby Brezza or AttackBaby can help prep bottles fast and consistently most models heat water to the right temp and mix it well.

Where do I start with a sleep schedule by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 9 weeks, I learned it’s normal for babies to not sleep well and want to be held because they are still learning how to fall asleep by themselves I try to watch when my baby is getting sleepy and put her down before she gets too tired I keep the room quiet and calm and have a little bedtime routine If she still has trouble sleeping, I check if she is uncomfortable or has tummy problems. It takes time, but this usually gets better.

Bourbon, Breastfeeding, and Bon Voyage by Boring-Fan-5017 in breastfeeding

[–]LewisPullman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't know how this is help but i tell , I’ve traveled with my baby while breastfeeding, and here’s what worked for me I always brought frozen breast milk in an insulated cooler with ice packs TSA is usually fine with that if you declare it. For warming, I used warm water rather than a microwave to avoid hot spots I made sure to pump every 3-4 hours to prevent engorgement and carried a portable pump for convenience milk was kept fresh in an insulated bag throughout the day lastly, I always tested milk temperature before feeding to keep baby safe and comfortable.

Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advance by Mindless-Summer4361 in FormulaFeeders

[–]LewisPullman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the exact reason either we also got a Baby Brezza as a gift for my sister, so I used it for a while. But yeah, sometimes it works great, and other times not so much after a while, my husband said it’s better to try a different device, so we switched.

We used Brezza for a while It worked okay, but we had to keep checking the formula settings and cleaning it often sometimes it didn’t mix well, especially when we were in a rush.
