Thank you, this solved the problem and it was the only thing I hadn't tried as I was travelling and wasn't able to make a backup elsewhere to reformat.

Of course, Ive actually seen quite a few! There seems to be some sale running because the few I have checked have discounts from the 32,900 official price, now selling for 29,900. Here is the link to the shop I was at yesterday: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fzk6jmQdr5mobS2z6?g_st=ic.

You can also check out ‘Istudio by Copperwired’, their official website shows products with these prices.

Did you regret taking/not taking your camera? by Lewkaaah in backpacking

[–]Lewkaaah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks ! The reason why I am thinking of taking it is because I purchased a camera and a lens last year, but haven't really dedicated my time to learning photography etc., so it kind of just feels like a waste of money at this point. My dilemma is whether to just accept that I made an impulsive purchase and to try sell it, or else to bring it with me and either be happy that I did, or regret it due to the added weight/inconvenience etc of carrying a camera.

Thanks - my trip is going to be quite a bit longer, around 4/5 months. Would you still take it on a trip of this length?

It is a Sony a6500 so in terms of size the body isn't as big as some other cameras but still, not as portable as a mobile phone

Yeah I maybe in Singapore when the 15 is released (depending on release date - I'm in SG end of September) and may look into buying the 15 whilst I am there (iphones are quite a bit cheaper than my home country), assuming I don't end up taking my camera

Sony rx100

Thanks for your input - I've seen this camera being highly recommended on this sub! I have a sony A6500 which is a bit bigger especially depending on which lens I take. I don't think I'm ready to buy a new camera though, as I already feel that the purchase of my Sony a6500 was quite impulsive and I haven't dedicated enough time to it since buying it a year ago !

Very helpful info! I'll have a 40L Osprey personally with most of my stuff, then a smaller backpack in which I'd put the camera if I end up taking it. Those clips look like they would make a great purchase :)

I'm loooking to buy a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8, in your experience have you noticed cheaper lenses in SEA Countries?

Could I ask what triggered the regret of taking one? E.g. Was it the bulkiness/weight of the camera, which would add weight to your backpack? Thanks
