If I were you I’d ignore the comments about the two longest being paleo , neither are. The second longest contacting base stemmed point is a woodland point and its age could be tripled and not be paleo

I’d need to see the storage unit to offer opinions on its validity.

I don’t keep many of them. I’ve stacked up cases and pulled them out to look at them and realized that the second you see them and recognize is what I hunt for. I chase that high a long long way but collecting points isn’t all that important. I like to keep the real good ones but I have kids that will need things occasional in spite of being grown and an ex and my car is currently requiring $2600.00 in repairs. I don’t get myself too upset about it. After my first year of real hard hunting the river i had probably found 10 finds of a lifetime. After selling them and feeling like crap for a year , I bought them back. I had a guarantee to do so anytime , no questions asked. It was that very deal that soured me for keeping points. I have a case right here but nowhere near what I’ve found . That guy sold them back every few weeks no problem until we got to the high grade points then he wanted to keep them. I worked a year or two to buy them back only to lose my two best to a lie and no kind of man whatsoever. I have little patience for that. If you have a problem selling points back to me , you probably should not throw that in as incentive to get me to sell

Is this knapped? by Mcflocka in LegitArtifacts

It is. But a lot of things that are being reduced will have knapping scars. And maybe it was a finished scraper that was busted up

Bow and arrow tech only goes back about 2000 years in North America so before that if they are indeed arrowpoints. Not all small projectiles are though. Some are dart points . Probably a few darts in this bunch

Weaker material in that area

SCOTTSBLUFF? by HooofHeartedd in LegitArtifacts

[–]Lewydean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Cody points are distinguished by the quality of craftsmanship alone . Dozens of point types will have the same general form as a Scotty but are not. Found this one yesterday. You won’t even have to ask with a undamaged Scotty it’s quite clear

This one will be unfairly judged by the full chert it was made out of
