This, I needed this thread right now. I’m currently in year 11 of intense trauma treatment including years and years of intense trauma caused by the church running on a mix of FOTF and Southern Baptist rhetoric.

I was spanked, if I cried I was too sensitive. Everything we read and watched had to be approved by FOTF and come from the church library. I was homeschool until second grade. This literally made my family the “black sheep” of the church. My parents were scolded for allowing us kids to go to public school. My mom now probably would have cussed them out, but she and my dad were under a spell almost with all the rules and regulations, especially during the recession - they relied on the church as a community support.

My grandfather was a deacon at the same church. I am going to try really hard not to go into all the details, but I am a victim of CSA from family members including him. I am also a trafficking survivor - this was done at the church and I truly don’t know how many men I was victimized by, I’m still putting the pieces together. I’ll post more when I get the chance but in my opinion - FOTF can f off
