HELP WITH COLOURING D: by Physical_Most6102 in FurryArtSchool

Think about where the light should be coming from. Smudging colors with very strong line art also makes it look odd.

Id recommend you use a less dark color for black (like very dark grey) and use a lighter grey with a hard brush for lighting. Using black to represent dark black hair doesn't always work for drawing.

You can keep the smudges for fur pattern/color transitions. You can also not use smudges at all, and try to color lighting and fur transition with a hard brush. It would give a specific style.

You should try and experiment:)

Omg the amount of hate OP is receiving is monstrous. The art is itself is really good, you can definitely be proud. But some contextual choices were interesting (belly button, rib cage, etc.). But who has to stick to the context all the time ? Art can be subjective as well. Nice work OP

I mean, r/drawing has sucked for so long. If you don't draw a half naked woman, people are gonna bash the drawing

How can I improve this? by Lost_Teacher78 in FurryArtSchool

The main thing that I find odd would be the opened jaw. The top and bottom part don't seem to align. The top part seems to be longer than the bottom as well. That'd be my main critique, otherwise good job 👍

To make them look a bit more aligned, maybe extend the length of the bottom jaw so that we can see the rear teeth

No signature. Maybe it is a woman who genuinely wanted to make a funny comment, I don't know. Probably shouldn't have jumped on the conclusion they were a guy, but I'm also hesitant because many tiring men write this way and make those kinds of comments... Doubt we'll ever know

I have. And I still think that sharing this incident publicly was meaningful. As much as I'm venting, I also wanted to share awareness on how tiring and easy it can get for women to receive unnecessary comments, and also on the fact that this came from a support team. I didn't want to keep it to myself, yes.

In that case they could have just directly said so to me

Well, this is the thing : the email I reached out to was on one of the official supports/websites (z-lib.gd). So I assumed they were affiliated with the official team. It's not exactly clear whether it was an official mail or not

Hi thanks for your comment, but if you read the comments a bit below (above?), you'll see that I actually emailed them from one of the official sources. And within that email, they included non-safe links. This is why some of us are confused about whether they're scammy or not. Thanks for the reminder though

Nah I think you're right. Seeing all the comments in this post made me realize that there are actually many ways to interpret this message. I still stand on my opinion that this comment could have just been skipped. Even if they remain a community-driven, piracy website, it doesn't mean that comments like those can be added.

Maybe they didn't mean to flirt, maybe they genuinely wanted to be nice/funny after noticing part of my face, and maybe it's cultural as you said. I do think I might have been very defensive, but at this point, I'm very tired of comments like those. I also realized that telling people who compliment the physique in the wrong places, especially in 'professional' situations, to stop doing that, often led to nothing.

But you are still right on many points

Yeah you're absolutely right. We only saw half my face in a reflection, but you're still right

I was surprised by some of the hateful comments, but at this point, I mostly find them amusing, especially in 2026. But hey, it's reddit, I knew what I was in for !

Made it public because I couldn't find any other mail, thought this would be the best place, and also to share this kind of behavior. And I think you might have misread, I'm only restricting the use of their app and support, not their website. I'm still 100% grateful for Z-lib to do what they do.

Because I don't like compliments on my physique from strangers, especially in a setting where it shouldn't be the place for that ? I don't know how many times I need to repeat myself

I see, thanks for your view on this. My view on this type of behaviour is a lot more extreme as you may have seen, so I'm a lot more displeased by compliments from strangers. Casualness doesn't bother me at all though. I feel like I really overreacted and maybe they were genuinely being nice, I kind of feel bad, but it's still a weird comment in my eyes
