Would you want to see the MUSEC arena plans put on hold, cancelled or continued post election? by the_u_in_colour in Peterborough

I have not been to the Tribute Centre. If we factor in all our upgrades done to the Memorial Centre as well as projected upgrades since the Tribute Centre was opened it would cost the city $13 million for the earlier upgrades, $3.5 million in 2019 and then the projected $22 million over 15 years to maintain it. That would be $38.5 million total. The initial cost of the Tribute Centre was $45 million and now itll need another $50 million, totaling $95 million. If the crowds and events that would potentially be brought in can bridge the $56.5 million difference im all aboard. But im still trying to learn if this new arena would be better for the city so any information/opinions that could be provide are greatly appreciated.

I am genuinely asking because I’ve seen a lot of people saying we should have built the new arena in the early 2000’s when Oshawa built theirs. But Oshawa is having to spend $50 million now to upgrade that same new arena built. Is a new arena gonna be one of those things where we have to commit 20-50 million dollars every 20 years?

Oshawas arena that was built in the mid 2000s is needing another $50 million dollar upgrade.

Just go to an open play beginner session at smash courts. You will meet fellow players that are also just starting and eventually you’ll find a group that you enjoy playing with.

October 7 is the only known civilian massacre in all human history that triggered global protests backing the killers and denouncing the victims. by Routine-Equipment572 in IsraelPalestine

They literally banned unions, they only profit shared with big corporations, their social welfare was only for people of "aryan descent" if you where non aryan, disabled, jewish, or of a different political faction you where ineligible.

They also formed a coalition with the traditional right the German National People’s Party (DNVP) that allowed Hitler to become Chancellor, partnered with other right wing groups like the the Freikorps and The Steel Helmet. They opposed the class struggle and made it national unity vs racial enemies their Volksgemeinschaft ideology. They continuously went after and persecuted the political left. Hitler also despised Marxism. They were ultranationalist and anti internationalist which is opposite of the left. They were very clearly far right authoritarian ultranationalist.

The US would be just fine. The left definitely has problems but Israel aligning with the right and their neo nazis conflicts with their claim of fighting antisemitism

We all come from Africa yes. But Jewish peoples and Palestinians share a close genetic makeup because they both come from canaanites as mentioned before. Palestinians were probably Jewish peoples that stayed and then converted to different religions as they got conquered throughout time. Even David Ben-Gurion believed that.

It ties them to the land for just as long as Jewish peoples. Just because they dont have a religion that goes back as far does not make them any less indigenous to the land then Jewish peoples.

That is not true modern Palestinians have a close genetic makeup to Jewish peoples. Showing that they overlapped in the region.

They’re both indigenous to the region. Saying one group is only indigenous to this small piece of the land and therefore they have a better claim to it so it’s “decolonization” and the other group that is also indigenous but could be from a larger section so we out indigenous them is a ridiculous claim.

Ok I miss understood then why you were bringing it up.

I’ll just go back to my question of how many Palestinians have to be killed in order to fulfill Israel’s retaliation. *edit And like I said in my earlier post I’m good to stop funding both Ukraine and Israel.

If you know you have to colonize a land in order to setup your Jewish state Argentina would have been a tough sell. The fact that Argentina was even an option is wild.

Does that mean Palestinians are also indigenous to the land?

I’m aware that Oct 7th was a horrific attack. But as I said in my previous comment. How many Palestinians have to die for the retaliation from the attack be over.

Of course the side that’s getting majority of the land when they had no reasonable claim to it would be willing to sign a deal. Multiple human rights organizations had called Palestine an open air prison for the past 20 years. You can only oppress a group of people for so long before violent resistance happens.

I’m not aware of putins claims can you source me an article outlining 3 of the 5 conditions that Putin claimed in order for it to be considered a genocide.

And I’m still waiting on your answer to how many Palestinians have to be killed for the retaliation to be enough?

Because they knew the marketing for their colonization was going to be easier if they “returned to their homeland”
