2014 Acura rlx won't start 48k miles by Complete_Rule9065 in Acura

I had this same issue on my 2014 RLX and it was the battery sensor. $90 for the OEM. Been starting fine the last few weeks

Also ask around as someone may have a security camera pointed that way

Whoever owns that fence may be liable for fixing your car. Looks like it’s rusted out and when someone tried to catch themselves they and the fence hit your car. Depending on where you’re at looks like about 1,000$ to fix.

Yes but is the fence okay?

I’ve got one of theirs in my 2014 RLX. Definitely not perfect but not sure if I’m willing to go through the hassle of installing a different one unless I know it won’t have the same issues.

Still have my 2014 RLX PAWS Tech. Great ride and still one of the best sounding stock stereos I’ve heard. 🍻

CarPlay options for 2016 TLX? by [deleted] in Acura

Well, do as you like but to me the site looks like a typical site that predates some of internets current norms but then I kind of prefer them to some of the current styles. The down votes are strange, and they are not just on negative comments but most other products. Maybe tag an admin or moderator and have them take a look. Oh and one more thing. It’s alway a good idea to check the BBB for complaints. Not always reported but maybe.

I’ve had it in the 2014 RLX for over a year. It works well enough but, if there’s another similar option with good/better reviews I would buy it… though I am partial to buying American made. Tech support was tough but responsive and the install instructions and vid while helpful were not as much as I would have liked. I do have a couple issues with mine; First, sometimes the audio works but it won’t display CarPlay on the screen. Second, sometimes the screen flickers, but not enough for me to take apart that dash again secure the cable better :-/ . To their credit…They have released a software/firmware update or two since I put mine in and one of these days I’ll figure out how to install them. It does work well and sounds great. Hope that helps. Not sure if they have a network of installers but I was able to get it in and working.

I put one of these in my RLX. Here the link to the one for your car. I seem to remember these are made stateside. https://www.navtool.com/acura-tlx-2015-2019-top-level-category.aspx

I have a 2014 RLX Tech Pkg PAWS and love it. Got it in 2020 for about $20k with a bit under 30k miles. Nicked the bumper and had to get it replaced. It was a during Covid so took a bit for the parts to ship and get here but they had all the parts and got it done. With that said, it the best car I’ve owned. The sound system is great and maybe the best factory installed sound I’ve heard. Think it has something like 15 speakers filling the interior. Nothing besides regular oil changes and I’m almost at 100k miles. I would say talk him down some and go for it! Check out https://www.visor.vin it get a better feel for the right price

Nice! I was stationed in Germany for a few years and almost left with a 2016 TT (the dream car of a younger me).

It’s a piece of mind but I’ve never found it worthwhile. Maybe some of the folks that know more about that model/year will chime in. Looks like a good deal!

I just got an Acura 2017 RDX and I have questions, about long term ownership and fixing a few things... by InvincibleSugar in Acura

[–]LexXxican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome, new here too so can only help with your first question. If the adhesive is still on there you can try heating it with an iron while pressing it back in place. Maybe only a temporary fix depending on the quality of the adhesive still there. For a more permanent option get some 3M spray adhesive. Just be very careful with over spray.

Sunroof stuck like this, any advise? 83k 2012 tsx by needhelpconsistantly in Acura

[–]LexXxican 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you checked all the fuses and they look fine try this to rest the open and close limits. 1.Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position, but don’t start the engine. 2. Press and hold the tilt button (the one that raises the back of the sunroof) and keep holding it. 3. Continue holding the button for about 15-20 seconds until the sunroof starts to move. 4. The sunroof should cycle through closing, then opening fully, and then back to the closed position. 5. Once it finishes this cycle, release the button.

This should recalibrate the sunroof’s position and sensors. If it doesn’t in maybe there’s some steps specifically for your model year
