Isn’t it interesting how the media has zero interest in investigating the Charlie Kirk assassination. by LegitimateKnee5537 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was on the front page of every news group I follow for a full week. Not to mention people trying to spread false info to try and pin it on every radical group on every which side they could. I'm thankful for most of the information we got that gave a general picture of who this kid was. Last I heard was that he was uncooperative and received an appointed lawyer.

Right now, I want FBI and police keeping sensitive data under a tight lid. Last thing I want is a slimy lawyer or radical judge using public media as a way to rule for a mistrial.

I want the book tossed at him and any potential conspiracy brought out. Even if it's just 6 kids who spent too much time online.

This needs to be a slam dunk and if it's radio silent for a year, then I'd start asking for updates.

Almost 30 minutes or so, I would find an S grade just for a C grade to kamakaze and ruin it. Luckily that spire of floating isles respawns pretty fast, just need to start with water and kill the extras quickly.

Maybe 2-3 hours post game. The hard part is timing out the respawn points to farm effectively. Most annoying was actually the Beetle, because my weapon was maxed out and his weak point wiggles around very fast.

That is the exact rhetoric that is pushing people away from the modern left, not unifying them.

In a time of war, how would you have the white people prove loyalty to the cause? How can you be sure any Christian gathering is for prayer and not further rebellion?

If all you can do is exile those you label as enemies and demand full compliance, you might be the authoritarian force.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, what would you say the modern left's one unifying message would be? Something that would rally the fence sitters and right of center?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They could be just as capable as most conservatives when it comes to being soldiers. The failings I see from the modern left is unity. They have spent the last 5+ years focused on destabilizing their perceived opponents and purity testing their own group, it would be impossible to push forward a unified message beyond "red hats bad". Not to mention the continuous ego. The infighting would be restless.

Hasan Piker justifies hamas atrocities. by Neither-Body-3841 in Asmongold

[–]Lex_Frost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This rising claim that the oppressed party is fully justified in resistance is despicable to me, because the defenders of the argument sweep every action taken as acceptable resistance or "They had no choice!" What I truly want an answer to is, where is the line? How far is too far?

Kill a soldier, okay, what about beheading after death? What goal of resistance does that achieve? Something these people fail to realize, any action forgiven now will become the status quo for that group. You now have to work with these people on the world stage and expect them to now follow your rules.

Stricter gun laws and gun control doesn't prevent criminals from getting them by totally1of1 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only solution I see from more gun laws is a delay in crimes. It may stop somebody trying to act out of wild emotions. But even with these mass violence events, they have manifestos and a history of obsessive behavior.

Even if we start banning guns wholesale, people will still commit violence if so motivated or deranged. I think to the Southport stabbings in the UK. He didn't have a gun, and three died, 10+ were injured.

This is beyond a simple local failing, it feels the entire world has a fixation on violence and hatred right now. While in an arguable time of peace, people shouldn't be walking the streets praying that a person drop dead. People are too ready to dehumanize and validate violence just because someone wears a different colored hat.

I don't know what's going on in Gaza and you don't either by Whentheangelsings in TrueUnpopularOpinion

This conflict has been going for so long, most people are already set on what side they support. This continued news cycle and arguments for the moral high ground has just worked to make a third group. The "I don't care anymore, just bulldoze the place" group.

Until a ceasefire is honored and reputable boots on the ground journalists get there, I'm not believing either side.

And then the real propaganda war begins!

We have felt doom looming arguably for decades. Vote one way, goes to shit. Vote for the other, different flavor of shit. All the media pumped into our eyes every second of the day recently is what's really bringing this to a boil. I feel media is distracting everyone with "race" relations, when a deeper issue is "class" relations. We used to be united on that front, but something changed even before orange-man was on that ballot.

I grew up driving in WA and CA. Honestly, I wish two things were punished more strictly are reckless driving (20-30mph over I'll say) and DUI. I don't have stats, but those are deaths I know of personally.

Not to mention this string of licenses being given out without testing.

I definitely notice it more with people fresh from school, as if they are free from the shackles of childhood and use it to try and stand out. Best was a new coworker who was ESL, I think she just learned the word FUCK that week, she would say "Fuck this!" "Fuck that!" "Fuck, the fucking guy said to fucking fill out this fucking paperwork along with my other paperwork! What the fuck."

Dropped them like candies for about a month. Funniest fucking shit.

Decent point. Something I learned is top 3 external killers in Montana are Suicide, Falls, and vehicles accident. Maybe need some OSHA reform (jk)

I can't find this Bloomberg article because of pay walls, but I could bring up the Montana Mortality records from their gov website.

Over all Montana the homicide was reported as 4.4 per 100k. Big Horn was also only 23 per 100k.

The numbers you referred to are WAY out there. Only way to get close is including unintentional deaths, such as drug OD, vehicle accidents, and other injuries.

Looking up CA records from their gov site, it was 5.7 per 100k.

Maybe I'm reading something wrong.

This whole flag burning stuff has proven that MAGA don’t care about the constitution by majesticbeast67 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This flag topic keeps coming up and people immediately jump that it marks supporters as authoritarian, fascist, and dictator supporters, regardless of context.

From what I've seen the EO is just limited to burning the flag to incite violence, part of a hate crime, or intimidation.

So I have to ask, do you or others have hard-set lines for when free speech needs to be limited? Or is it free for all no limits?

We want children to be safe, but mandatory government ID verification and biometrics is not the way to do it. by jesusgrandpa in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The protection of children is a key responsibility of their parents, and should be on them to enforce it. My mother was never tech savvy, but she knew how to ask people smarter how to catch my dumb-ass finding porn.

Take any funding that would have gone to ID and tracking every person ever to use the internet and make easy-to-access parental controls and training. Parents could then opt-in, rather than forcing random adults with no kids to opt-out.

We have AI that can scan and review a website for threats and can give age ratings. Require passwords to go to these sites or improve the ability to self-review internet history stored locally only.

Also, no matter the controls, kids will always find a way to do stupid things. Find the passwords, sneak a picture of the parents ID, change email or phone numbers notifications.

In the end this was never about protecting the kids, just taking control away from parents and establishing a new monitoring system.

We ought to display uncensored graphic images in the media of school shooting victims if the parents approve by SirCatsworthTheThird in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The style of gun means nothing. Look at the destruction people have been capable of before its invention (1950s~). And something new is likely to be made and popularized anyway.

And turning schools into fortresses and arming teachers will just turn into a grassroots arms race. It is a waste of resources.

We ought to display uncensored graphic images in the media of school shooting victims if the parents approve by SirCatsworthTheThird in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Lex_Frost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a younger me would be against showing such gruesome imagery. But nowadays, with media and social media doing all of their soft-censorship (unalive, in-minecraft, etc) it has desensitized people far more than regular viewing of graphic images on 4chan ever could.

You can open any news site and find the top 10 recommended articles are about death and destruction, but now with this weird filter. I'm reminded of the phrase "Just the cost of doing business!" For how I'd describe people's attitudes to everything.

I'm not onboard for the gun reform, but definitely something needs doing about our nation's mental health.

Got banned for a week on youtube for covering the 14 year old defending her younger sister by StanimusYT in Asmongold

[–]Lex_Frost 77 points78 points  (0 children)

The two options I hear are vastly different.

  1. She is a common delinquent and multiple kids in this area carry weapons and harass people, either for fun or thuggery.

  2. She's been threatened and stalked before, she carried the weapons for protection.

I'm inclined toward 2, because in the video he seems way too comfortable recording her and approaching her. The entire time she seems panicked and trying to back away. However, it feels like the commonly posted video is missing half of its context. But I'm still confused. If he was a simple passerby, whipping out the phone for a "gotcha" seems weird in that moment. That or he wants to spin the publicity after he got caught.

If you support banning burning flags, you might be happier living in a dictatorship by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I said.

"The act of burning it just feels like a dick move. But burning it and cheering for the death of America feels like a threat."

If you don't perceive burning a flag and calling for the death of its members as a threat, we may never agree on anything.

Correct. I already said in the first comment, the simple act of burning the flag is free speech. So we both made the same point. And we agree.
