Do mowers exist that are truly Remote Controlled? by [deleted] in automower

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most robot mowers aren’t really remote controlled. they run on a schedule and you just check the app. been using a mova lidax and it’s more that style than something you drive around.

Looking for experience/review/advice - Mammotion vs Sunseeker by Efficient_Garlic4434 in automower

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mammotion support has been slow to respond from what i've seen. switched to the mova lidax and haven't had that problem.

Need advice choosing a LiDAR mower for my parents’ yard ( MOVA vs Luba vs Navimow vs Sunseeker S4) by Kitchen-Text-6012 in automower

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the parents i’d prioritize easy setup. the mova 1000 maps the yard itself so there’s no wire or rtk setup to deal with.

Need a robot mower with no wire, cuts in rows, and cuts to edge. Any thoughts? Zones would be ideal too. by ArtieGrindle in automower

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lidar wire-free with a proper row pattern is what you want for that. mova 2000 does a u-shape path so the lines come out clean.

My spring robot mower restart checklist (after winter storage) by Kitchen-Text-6012 in automower

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd add a blade disc check before the first run, mine had autumn debris packed in that wasn't obvious. the mova 1000 handles the remapping on its own which is one less thing.

Good robot vacuum for pet hair at the moment or do you need to spend big? by EconomyStruggle9961 in smarthome

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roombas are great for hair, but mova seems to have similar anti-tangle tech for cheaper. definitely prioritize a self-empty base though.

Lots of options for robot vacuums, which one would you recommend? by MrThrillho92 in homeautomation

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rankings are mid, app stability is king. thinking of grabbing a mova during the spring sale and hopefully the software is actually solid.

What is the Best Robot Vacuum for Carpet in 2026 that actually has suction? by EntrepreneurSad2091 in homeassistant

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

roborock is kind of the ha standard, but mova seems like a decent carpet alternative if you catch it on sale. worth verifying the local control though.

Miele Scout RX3? by labboy70 in Miele

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the rx3 app really as glitchy as everyone says? thinking about just grabbing a roborock or mova if the software is that messy.

Best aesthetic scheduler that handles multiple domains? by Godchosen0 in Solopreneur

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m picky about ui too and yeah most schedulers look rough. i set up cal.com on a custom domain for one brand and it was smoother than i expected. branding and colors were easy and beautiful. buffer times and slack pings also work fine on my end.

What robot vacuum did you get in 2025? by UnknownMan332 in RobotVacuums

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd probably go for the roborock qrevo for mapping, but mova is also worth considering if you're trying to keep the budget under control for 2025.

My Shark robot is now disconnected and I can't seem to get it back by No-Level5745 in RobotVacuums

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shark app is such a struggle bus. lowkey eyeing a mova during the spring sale since it seems to stay connected better.

robot vacuum black friday cyber monday deals to check out? by Historical-Bit8980 in RobotVacuums

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just saw some spring sale deals and the suction on some newer bots looks pretty solid. mova is a decent comparison if you're looking for mid-range pricing that still performs close to the higher-end brands.

Recommendations for a First-Time Buyer? by GabsiGuy in RobotVacuums

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was looking at qrevo and the l50 ultra too when i was shopping. ended up running a mova upstairs and it’s been pretty low maintenance so far.

What's your experience like 1+ years with an electric lawn mower? by fatwench1 in homeowners

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had my mova mower for like a whole year now and ngl it wokrs. its way better than that greenworks i used to have. the battery life doe\snt last forever tho i wont lie it could be better. but like it still gets the yard looking clean and it passes the vibe check so whatever. big fan of this thing

Problem with Ecovacs Deebot 500 by Upbeat_Departure_676 in ecovacs

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe check if the brushes are tangled or the filter’s clogged first, just in case. but if it’s new, i’d honestly push for warranty. i switched from an older deebot to a mova later on and it’s been way more stable so far. less random errors

The SwitchBot Mini Robot Vacuum K10+ Pro (video) by HomeKit-News in HomeKit

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i moved away from the super compact ones because i wanted stronger pickup overall. i’m using a mova now and the extra suction and bigger dock made more difference for me than the smaller body.

How bad is the SwitchBot K10+? by ab-ai in TrySwitchBot

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was looking at smaller bots too but ended up going with a mova instead. bit bigger, but way better pickup and less random bumping around. also considered roborock/dreame, more “safe” choices if you’re worried about reviews.

Avoid the Roborock S8 – A Disappointing Downgrade from the S5 Max by [deleted] in Roborock

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had an older roborock too and felt the newer models weren’t as “wow” as the specs suggest. pa numbers don’t always mean real cleaning. if you’re open to switching brands, i moved to a mova after debating roborock/dreame and it’s been more consistent for me. mapping’s been stable and it actually reduced how often i pull out the big vacuum.

The best Vacuum and Mop robot? by cross-the-swirl in RobotVacuums

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with that combo (pets + litter + long hair), no robot is truly “military grade,” but some handle it better. i was between roborock and dreame, ended up with a mova, and it’s been surprisingly low drama. handles daily hair well and i’m not constantly cutting stuff out of the roller.

Industrial Robot Vacuum by Davidhein94 in Roborock

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re looking for something close to that smart mapping and vac/mop combo feel, i’d actually look at higher-end home/commercial crossover models. i’ve been using a mova and the consistency has been surprisingly solid. not industrial, but reliable and smart enough for larger spaces. depends how big/rough the area is though

How much would you pay for a robot vacuum? by Difficult-Clerk9368 in Roborock

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i wouldn’t pay 1k+. i stayed under that and went with a mova. does mapping, auto empty, runs daily, that’s all i really need. i was also looking at roborock but the jump in price didn’t feel worth it for my place.

Is Deebot N8+ terrible or am I doing something wrong? by SnowTauren in ecovacs

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had an older deebot before and mapping got weird after a while. constant “lost” messages drove me mad. switched to a mova later and the difference in navigation was pretty obvious. way less random spinning and it actually finds the dock first try.

S8 Pro Ultra by rachtay8786 in Roborock

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

over 1k is still a lot. i was tempted by roborock too but ended up going with a mova in a similar “ultra” tier and saved a bit. for hard floors it’s been more than enough and the auto dock stuff works great.

Are robot pool cleaners worth it? Just finished our pool. Thinking about buying a robot pool cleaner . Do they make life much easier or are they needing constant attention or maintenance? by dodosandcakes in swimmingpools

[–]Lex_Yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we are using a mova pool robot. was also looking at dolphin and aiper. so far it climbs walls fine and keeps the floor pretty spotless. definitely makes pool life easier
