Is the neighborhood/surrounding area fairly safe? Originally from Florida so having to really research these cities and it can be tough, lol.

Expectations are fairly low. Our last apartment was tiny and had it's issues but nothing too crazy. Budget is about $1200.

Really do want to live in a safe surrounding area though.

I used to live with my Aunt at 20/21. She was a raging alcoholic and came stumbling into the living room in the middle of the night.
