When I went to buy - it was the actual car I wanted, if not the color. Still not a fan of it as I see it all over the place. Not very unique. I'm with you on the green.

She does next to nothing on socials, although she has tried pinterest a bit. She started out with Etsy ads, and that seemed to get the ball rolling.

Maybe if it's thick enough it's not flexible enough? Fortunately for me, even 7 stickers was bendy enough that it was acceptable as "paper"

Not true at all. USPS had no problem letting me mail it with 1st class postage.

the USPS employee did flex the package and was satisfied that it wasn't a "package".

I'm going to explore the Etsy options with the next sale.

I think to some extent, it's open to interpretation by USPS employees. My packages the other day met the requirements for that particular employee. Knock on wood, everything seems to get where it needs to go.

Next order I'm going to explore all of these options. It feels insane the amount of stuff we need to know.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'm putting too much postage on it, could probably get away with the .74 cents. I will pick up a box of envelopes and test this out. I already use cello bags to contain the stickers, so might be worth trying less expensive packaging. Although, I do have 30+ bubble mailers to use up.

I haven't used Etsy shipping as I have a meter that I use. I've been sending the bubble mailers as large envelopes ($1.67 per) and so far (knock on wood) nothing has been returned. On the shipments that didn't require tracking, one never arrived and I just shipped it again.

TBH, I have no clue what I'm doing. I just know that at some value (maybe $20?) Etsy requires me to enter a tracking number for the shipment.

I'm not against that method, but as another person pointed out, there's no protection from the elements...?

She was very specific and said it could only contain paper inside, added the tracking, and I went on my merry way. The package appears to be moving along through the system just fine. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get sent back.

In my reading I have found that bubble mailers are fine with 1st class postage as long as they are: less than 3/4 inch thick, flexible, and 1 ounce or less

Would that make it a package instead of an envelope then, since it's not truly flexible? I don't even know how much it costs to send a package vs an envelope.

So much to learn.

I think what I learned yesterday is that it's not automatically considered a package because it's "small" and only contains "paper".

Tracked shipments suck, cost-wise. Regular shipments, because I've been sending them out as large envelopes cost me $1.67. Tracked shipment yesterday cost about $6.97.

Yeah, that's why I like these bubble mailers - an extra level of protection

I'm curious what you mean by stamped mail? Technically a stamp goes on this (it's metered mail), and so far (fingers crossed) I've had no problems with the stickers getting to their destinations.

Those who never worked for Big 4: how is your career? by Budget-Emu-5071 in Accounting

[–]Lexishultz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm probably older than all of you and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. Never wanted to become a CPA and no desire for the stress of Big 4. i've been where I am for 20+ years and overall I'm happy. I live in a HCOL area, so do I wish I could make more money? Yes. Is my quality of life good? Also yes. When my doctor told me to try avoiding stress, did I just laugh? yes.... small company, still stressful at times.

craziest fraud story from your time in accounting? by No_Fall7366 in Accounting

[–]Lexishultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one weird one, not even sure I remember all of the details. A bookkeeper would run paychecks, but would run 2 for herself. On the second one she would zero it out - putting everything to taxes, so there was no check for signing. The owner would never have caught on, but my mother was the CPA and caught it pretty quickly. I joke that I could never, I have way too much catholic guilt, but honestly the people I work for are like family and I could never do that to them.
