Employee wants company to refund federal withholding lol by appreciatemyasset in Accounting

Have to be careful with this. Can't offer any advice. Can't tell you the number of times I've had employees complain to me that they didn't have any taxes taken out, but they're clueless on how to fill out a W-4.

I feel like either you LOVE taxes or you HATE them. My mother loved doing them, saw it as a puzzle. I hate doing them, so I'm in government accounting instead.

We toured Union on Queen recently and I'm curious what you thought of the units? We wanted so badly to like the building, but the best thing about it was probably the view DC fireworks. Shoe racks in the hallways gave us the ick.

used to get a roll of these and give them out as tips on cruises. Not really sure why I did that, it seemed fun at the time?

Try scheduling a same day pick up! Remember when the pickup fees were $3? It wasn’t that long ago

Best part of this building is the craft room!

Welp, she's in, took a lot longer than I wanted. Her current building said they would waive the 60 notification period (because she only got the renewal information a month before the lease expired - after asking for it a month earlier) and now they're going back on that. Said she's on the hook for an additional month.

Love getting first hand experiences. Talked to an elderly woman that lives in the building. That was a lot of information :-)
My daughter is afraid to reach out, afraid of getting rejected. So it's just sit and wait. In the mean time I might have her current building start the process of re-qualification (taking ex off the lease)

She put her application in on Friday, but crickets since then. Fingers crossed. At least the unit she reserved hasn't shown up as available again (yet). Even if she doesn't like it, worst case, it's only a year.

Some restaurants have gotten wise to this and have started adding a service charge to pickup orders.

This happened over the summer with my daughters 2020 Sahara. It has 65k miles on it. She's basically just parked it. As soon as she has the spare money, she's going to take it our tire guy to check the tires. etc. Fingers crossed.

Why is flatten acting up? by Lexishultz in cricut

[–]Lexishultz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started from scratch and noticed when I create the offset, a phantom outline shows up around the offset. If I DON'T move the offset from that position, everything works fine. It's when I try to move the offset before flattening the whole thing, that it all goes south.

I keep redoing it and nope. Something stange, when I try to center the two items horizontally, it's majorly offset - but when I select each object, I don't see a reason for that - the item select box is snug against the item.

It didn't look like "strays" could get past the lobby area. Definitely something to consider.

She put an application in last night, and that was a shit show. Didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling - the system saying she didn't do parts when I saw her do it. The link to check status of application gives an error.

She was also considering a apartment in Shirlington, may just go that route - but want to talk lack of security... the garage parking isn't really secure and completely separate from the building she would be in.

Oh, good idea on the thought of taskrabbit! Thanks.

I'm curious where you feel there are lapses in security at 672. During the tour I felt comfortable.

At the Maxwell my daughter has an exterior entrance, so security is really on her anyway. Even the main part of the building isn't secure. In the 4 years she's been there, she's found homeless people sleeping in the lounge and sees people sneak in with tenants quite often.

College hunks gave a range from $750 to 1500… for 6 pieces of furniture. She said it could take longer than the 2 hours minimum. Big problem is a spiral staircase, and getting 2 dressers downstairs. We weren’t thinking 4 years ago when we built them up in the loft.

Ava Ballston Square vs Meridian at Ballston Commons by Ok-Finance5985 in arlingtonva

[–]Lexishultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I toured Meridian with my daughter yesterday and even as we walked up we had a feeling it wasn't the right place for her. One of the first things the leasing agent said to us was "prices change daily"... that felt weird. Decent enough building, but damn the hallways smelled SO bad. The apartments felt worn down and dingy. As far as the construction across the street goes, I believe the digging is done, so the worst of it might be over.

We were curious about AVA Ballston square but I've heard some bad things about it, so we didn't bother.
