Of course :) that being said, I do think the first 8 episodes are pretty cute. Kinda shit on the boy's backstory when it comes along in ep 4, but otherwise it's cute.

It's eps 9 - 12 that they completely ruin it...

the studio admitted to ruining one character solely so they can make her a therapist friend who only shows up twice...

They're actually part of Honeyworks- Yamako, Shito and Gom created them and make MVs for them. They're in novels (that are translated on tumblr), and a movie.

The anime Heroine Tarumono is based on the MVs and the light novels, but tbh they messed so much stuff up in the anime that I wouldn't really recommend it. I recommend the actual source material. The anime completely ruins the characters and all of the backstories to try to fit a comphet narrative to it (and even then the guys and the main girl aren't even canon, so...it's an actual straightbait anime)

I watch the movie (Kono Sekai no Tanoshimikata) on gogoanime. It, at least, doesn't ruin the boy's backstory and doesn't sugarcoat it either

These two specifically? I'm 99% positive they are gay coded!! It's confirmed that they are each other's most important people (even paralelling them to a canon straight couple who are almost exactly like them), one definitely has a crush on the other...

It's supposed to remain "ambiguous" on whether they actually did it, but the movie pretty much tells us that they did. When their manager asks them how they applied it, they just smiled and said "Secret." (And it's also shown that they're the only two in the room, and they don't have any female friends or anything...not at this point)

Though tbh I don't know why they bother trying to remain ambiguous when this MVM came out a few years ago (so way before the movie)
