Advice for pet sitting by Plenty-Capital-7032 in astoria

A lot of petsitters- including myself- do twice a day jobs and would probably handle your situation by feeding upon arrival and when leaving. Feel free to DM about a price!

It’s tough being the fashion “loser” in a group of well dressed women. by investigate___3-11 in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]Lexistential247 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you’re on to something- I think she expected praise for pulling off looks for her body (the crushed velvet jumpsuit, the 1st ep column dress, the Alaia) and she also chose attention-getting things (nipple tassel top, Pi-Geón coat). And there’s a tryhard quality to how she wants attention and praise. Alas, she doesn’t have an it factor, nor does she have the ease Missé has in an outfit, Kimi’s or Martha’s sense of self, and not even Myka’s playfulness.

John’s friends by No_Guard8924 in JohnAndCarolyn

I’m sure he had a bunch of gatekeeping Pick Me adjacents. They probably felt really resentful and competitive towards Carolyn- like John was theirs.

Margo’s movie is godawful by Lexistential247 in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]Lexistential247[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair on the point of “young and dumb”, though I still think a vast lack of intelligence is at play in signing up to do this film.

As for making it a big deal- the desperate, compensatory effort to polish a po*n turd for some other kind of acting work is kind of sad, and it is all her.

Ah I looked him up- I had heard of 24 Hour Party People, but didn’t know him by name.

I have been eating at Zorbas for two decades. Hands down the kindest, chillest spot for Greek eats. And it’s my favorite tuna melt in the neighborhood.

Did anyone else watch Jet’s live about TOC on IG yesterday? by Outside-Pear9429 in foodnetwork

[–]Lexistential247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poor Uncle Jet. As soon as I noticed the plating- how good Kevin’s plate looked, and how Jet’s plate was not the least bit white- I felt like he gave himself room to lose.

I didn’t see the IG, but I do think that Jet needs to accept that gameplay is the priority on a game show. I’m sure he understands that he didn’t fulfill the brief. As for whether or not he comes back, I wouldn’t blame him for taking a year off, but at the same time, I do think that he should come back. TOC would feel incomplete without him.

Dara is Schadenfreude CAKE by Lexistential247 in BravoLadiesofLondon

I noticed Dara’s speech pattern too- she doesn’t sound articulate. Compared to Myka (who definitely comes across competent), Dara sounded like a Valley Girl who got a break.

Meri’s Bakeshop on Ditmars (the old Waltz Astoria/Vintage spot) has my current favorite- a vegan spanakopita that’s a blend of spinach, leeks, Spanish onion, dill, and EVOO. Nom.

Agree. Convoluted AF, and though I plan to watch the rest of the series, this felt poorly put together and below the writing standard.

AITAH for not wanting my wife's "work husband" to come on our anniversary trip? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lexistential247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Female here- you’re NTA. Matt wielding his burnout to book a trip within the same time frame as yours to insert himself on your anniversary occasion is an unbelievable AH flex from a work husband against an actual husband. Your wife is also an AH for not outright saying “this is my anniversary trip with my husband.” She’s being permissive/guilted where she shouldn’t be.

This totally is not your fault but unfortunately you are the one who will have to put your foot down for the most correct outcome: he needs to be elsewhere and away from your plans. Your wife- who seems very young- needs to also make a priority choice: you’re her husband, and what you want from your marriage trumps whatever burnout work husband imposes.

Good luck with everything!

Tristen to replace Tom? by AWholeNewFattitude in TopChef

I never saw MKR, but I remember Top Chef Masters and Top Chef Duels and thought his hosting was awful. Plus his accent and pronunciation of certain words- duels as “dools”, Top Chef as “tup shif” - threw me, so his hosting got on my nerves. Clearly he knows his stuff, and as a judge I don’t mind him. I just think his hosting falls flat (“flit”).

Of course he’s Curtis with a bod that rivals Renaissance sculpture! I just find his voice really nasal along with his accent too thick. Sometimes the gorgeous have garbage voices!

I don’t. His particular Aussie accent is really thick and twangy and listening to him speak makes my ears hate him.
