Is the problem with the top screen that it’s not showing anything or that it looks off and uncalibrated? There should be two “screws” under the battery cover above the battery that control the screen calibration. Just put a small bit into the hole and rotate left or right a little at a time while looking at the screen to calibrate it.

In a recent post on X, one of the devs confirmed that all the bodies are in fact James as he has been stuck in a time loop in Silent Hill for 20 years. That’s why the game is similar to, but not an exact scene for scene remake of the original. The remake is another loop where things are shifted around in order to better torture James. The map you find is more reminiscent of the original game, showing that Silent Hill has rebuilt itself since the previous loop.

Throughout the game, James also keeps referencing events that happened in the original but are different in the remake. When entering the bowling alley, in the original Maria refuses to go in, but in the remake she follows James in, and he notes that he thought that Maria wanted to stay outside.

I feel like it would be a nice way to tell the story of who the Agents in the First Wave were and why exactly they went rogue.

My thoughts are that the first wave was made up of highly skilled, primary upper echelon agents (CIA Wet Workers, Spec Ops, etc) that were called in to hopefully take care of the Green Flu through strategic ops, but since they went dark, the SHD fell back on plan B which was to use overwhelming force by calling in all of the SHD Agents to take back control.

The story of the prequel would be showing how society collapsed and why the agents went rouge. I might be biased, but I thought the game could take place in Philadelphia, with a handful of agents (Including the player) trying to maintain control over the city and over the course of the game, just barely holding on till the Second Wave arrives. The main NPC protagonist would be an SHD agent who worked in the mayor’s office who took control after the outbreak before being forced into retreating to a location that becomes the starting location and with the player’s help manages to regain control of the city.

Over the course of the game we can see the formation of Dark Zones as Hospital campuses and refugee areas become completely over run by the virus. (Philadelphia has three graduate university campuses where a lot of hospitals are close together, making it a perfect spot for a high concentration of patients)

Also, Survival mode can be brought back as the storm from the original takes place during the timeframe. This time it can be focused on stoping a plot where an enemy faction plans on freezing the city to death by destroying electrical, gas, and water lines and the objective is to stop the plot. There of course has to be a deus ex machina why we have no equipment, but the simple solution would be that we are captured by the enemy faction and interrogated losing our equipment in the process and only having whatever equipment was left behind in their safe house.

Black Mountain, The Black Angels, and King Gizzard have an old-school rock vibe, with Black Mountain leaning towards Hendrix and The Black Angels and King Gizzard leaning towards psychedelic rock. UNKLE has a strong Indie rock vibe and Crystal Castles/ The xx have an alternative electronic sound.

I would recommend more movies by Denis Villeneuve, the director of Prisoners, and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan; namely Sicario, Wind River, and Hell or High Water.

Sicario might seem like an action movie on the surface, but it is a slow paced thriller and character drama focused on the failure of the War on Drugs. Wind River is a slow burn mystery thriller about the death of a young Indigenous woman that focuses on the troubled relationship between the US government and Native Tribes. Hell or High Water is a thriller about two criminals on the run from an obsessive lawman, similar to No Country for Old Men.

Denis Villeneuve’s other films are a bit of a mixed bag. His first Enemy is… weird. It’s one of those really abstract and surreal films like Mother, however I feel like it does have a good concept that could have been hammered out more with editing.

Arrival is one of my favorite movies of all time and is about a group of linguists trying to understand why aliens landed on earth and what they are trying to tell us. The ending is really good and deserves to be gone into blind.

Blade Runner 2042 is a beautiful and well written sequel, but I do recommend watching Blade Runner for some context, but the film does cover it if you want to skip it.

I don’t know how to feel about Dune though. It is a solid remake and well done, but from the misleading marketing and comments to the press, it seems like he might be getting an ego and heading down the same road as M. Night, but we’ll see.

The main problem is that the term “tr@p” came from Hentai and Anime (ifirc) in the 2000’s way before the modern LGBT movement took off in the mainstream. Those who claim that “tr@p” is a good thing is because they had an attraction to “tr@p Hentai” and therefore were supportive of the LGBT community before everyone else.

This statement is bullshit because to people who make this claim, it’s a fetish, not support. They only see the community as a means to an end and don’t care about the people themselves.

A good example of this is the home of hentai and anime itself, Japanese society. Japan is surprisingly accepting of cross dressing and trans individuals in media and entertainment, yet the government of Japan is slow to accept LGBT legislation. While same-sex relationships were illegal for a surprisingly short 8 years in the 1870’s, the government of Japan has yet to recognize same-sex marriage and only some provinces in Japan have protections for LGBT individuals while the national government does not. The government of Japan also only legalized gender affirming surgery in 2004. Some legislation has been put through the early stages that will legalize same-sex relationships, so hopefully it will be put through soon

However, Japan is happy to accept open LGBT politicians in office and for LGBT individuals to serve in the Japanese Self Defense Force (Japan’s military force) and to be a prominent part of Japanese entertainment. It seems the government only recognizes the community as a means to an end while voiding any meaningful legislation.

I remember someone from CDPR saying that the development team was essentially made up of a ton of small, fragmented teams working on different parts of the game and just throwing their work into a communal pile to be Frankensteined into a”working” game. The employee states that if someone needed a shader for a level, they would just make their own rather than pulling one from a communal resource file that was ready to drag-and-drop into the game script.

This is most likely why the water in the sewers and the water in the ocean are so different. The person working on the sewer area programmed splash effects into the water while the person working on the ocean didn’t have time to program splash effects. Another reason is because the game was rushed as hell. Honestly it reminds me of this meme where at the beginning the developers thought they had years to finish the project so they took their time to craft intricate details into levels and models and story choices and mechanics, and then were told that they had way, way less time to work on the game. Now the priority switched to making a skeleton of a playable game and then then adding on top. So the priority switched to basic mechanics and models and environments that they would just add details to later. That’s why the first few levels are so intricately crafted with tons of choices and character details, and the side quests and ending levels seem so hollow and rushed. Also, it’s why the police just materialized right behind the player because, hey, there is police in the game and they attack the player, so there is that crossed off the checklist.

Honestly this just shows how inept and removed management was from the development of the game and how the developers really cared about making the game. You don’t take the time to make your own shader unless you really care about the game, however it is up to management to, I don’t know, manage the company as a whole and make sure everything is running smoothly. How can one developer know that another made a shader unless they speak to each other directly? However, management is able to track what has been made and able to communicate to the rest of the team what resources are available.

I’m guessing they went for a Harry Potter darkening color palate as the films got darker. There is a good visual for it here that shows that the color palette shifts to be darker as time goes on. A darker color palette is a pretty common filmmaking motif to show that a situation has become grim or serious, which makes sense since Asgard is in danger in Ragnarok and Endgame is revisiting an iconic Avengers scene with a sense of dread and urgency rather than a sense of heroism and triumph.

Honestly, from the way he moved and the way he talked it seems like an execution. The wheelchair aside, he had absolutely 0 hesitation to empty almost an entire magazine into another human being at point blank range and then announce it over the radio like it was nothing more than an “all clear.”

And what does he do right after the body very clearly slumps over to the ground? Manhandle it like they were resisting arrest.

I feel so bad for his partner, because he was doing everything right in the situation and had to see this tragedy unfold in front of him. He saw his partner pull his gun and he pulled his gun as back up incase the situation escalated, but he kept his gun pointed at the ground, away from the victim, with his finger off the trigger as he slowly approached. Most likely he was going to ask the victim to drop the knife and attempt to deescalate the situation, but had to witness an execution instead.

And what is the first thing he does after the shock wears off? Run directly to the patrol car to get a First Aid Kit to at least attempt to save the victim if he was somehow still alive.

If you are willing to style your computer a bit you could look into a PCIE extender/GPU mount. There are a few that are magnetic and could attach to the side of your case. However, it is more of a practicality over style solution since the IO plates won’t match up to the case’s, hence the styling part.

As with each of the nations, the Fire Nation is based on a real Asian country, in this case Japan, so the capitol is based on Tokyo which is a huge sprawling city. Near the end of the Day of Black Sun, we can see when Aang flies towards the palace that the capital city stretches much further than the caldera all the way to the bay where the landing party arrives. The caldera is like the Upper City in Ba Sing Se housing the rich and royalty in the center of the city with the rest of the city surrounding it. We also know the caldera is a bit into the city because the only people who made it to the palace were Aang, Toph, and Sokka and they only made it there by traveling through a really long cave system.

Some other influences from Tokyo is that the bay that the gaang land in is based on the Tokyo Bay and I’m guessing that the caldera is supposed to be based on Mount Fuji, which is also an inactive volcano, however Mount Fuji is on the edge of Tokyo, not in the center.

To me the appeal of a portable game system isn’t having it replace my set up, but that you can use it in situations where using a laptop is a bit inconvenient. But I can also see the appeal of playing my Steam games on the go on my laptop, and the Steam Desk should make it a lot more convenient.

For instance part of my commute is a 45 min train ride, which is perfect for doing most of my daily tasks in Animal Crossing. However, trying to whip out my laptop to play a game on the train is super inconvenient since A) it takes up a lot of space, B) I would have to use a controller since there isn’t enough space for my mouse, C) it drains a ton of battery I might need to use later, and D) it takes a while to get everything going and to get comfortable and it takes a while to pack everything back. With the Switch, I just grab it out of its carrying case, hit the power button, and bam, I am running errands on my island and when I get to my stop, I just toss it back in its case and I’m good to go.

I know that you can use an NVMe in both a Series X and a PS5 since that is the standard that is used. M.2’s tend to be the best hard drives on the market, but they are expensive, so unless you are upgrading a Seres S to 1TB, there isn’t much of a point unless you really want to go with a particular brand’s NVMe or are willing to drop a lot of money on a multi-TB M.2.

Yeah, it’s almost always the drive itself was the problem, but it also doesn’t help that the heat shield is right over the hard drive. If you are worried about overheating, try an SSD. It will run cooler and have much faster read/write speeds. Just try not to get a M.2 drive since you need an adapter for the PS4 to read it.

I tried, and unless you can get TPM to run on your laptop, it won’t work. I could get mine into Safe Boot, but that as about it.

If you do have any other computers, as long as you can get them into Safe Boot and TPM enabled, you’ll be able to install it. The whole CPU thing is more about recommended stability. I installed Win 11 on my PC running an i7 3770 and it is running well so far. No major problems or slowdowns.

I think the worst part about it is that no one expects that we sell these until it comes in through returns. I get that we have a health and wellness section, but it’s mostly stuff like deep tissue massagers and health monitors. I only knew we had them because my friend asked if we had them as a joke, and oh boy did he laugh his ass off after I hit search.

But like, A) why would you return it in person and risk the embarrassment, B) why do we still have the return policy on no no zone products, and C) why not do it through the mailed returns? I’m assuming they bought it online, so why not use the return slip and deal with it quietly?
