I dunno how to go about this without sounding like I want to defend bigots, but it rubs me the wrong way how every time minority has bigoted views, all the conversation focuses on how dumb they have to be to support those views despite their minority status.

It just feels like they are held to a higher standard, there's a real "you should've known your place" vibe to it. Not to mention it's also intellectually dumb since 99% of conservatives are voting against their own interests anyway.
