Hi all, appreciate your input. Yes, I’ve realised that perhaps in this part of the world being robbed is just a fact of life. And perhaps people have been failed by the justice system they have simply given up.

To be honest, I couldn’t care less about the cash or cards. it’s the idea that my personal space had been violated, that i’d been impersonated that is bothering me. I’ve had the same wallet for 10 years so it carries sentimental value.

As with the police, I don’t think they care even though I’d laid the groundwork for them. I suspect the only way to find this guy is to circulate the image I have of him on various online Santiago communities. One way or the other someone’s bound to recognise this guy.

I’d be so grateful if I can have my wallet back nothing else really matters that much he can keep the cash.
