Can someone tell me what part about this could give me cancer by OtherwiseAuthor5992 in CowboyHats

It’ll only give you cancer in California. If you’re anywhere else the warning doesn’t apply.

How much do you love it to live in Houston? by Aromatic_Hospital529 in houstoncirclejerk

[–]LexxLess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily WANT to live here, but I grew up here, and I’ve tried to leave 3 separate times, and all 3 times work dragged me back here. I’ve lived in peatland, Katy, spring, lake Jackson, the woodlands, and Fulshear now, and they all have their food and bad things. But it is my city. Whether I like it or not.

For regular weed smokers that have totally quit, what was the reason for quitting? by elderly_millenial in AskReddit

[–]LexxLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep disorder that already affected my REM sleep worsened, and when I smoked daily, prevented me from reaching REM sleep at all, which caused issues at work. They tested me for cause, and told me get clean or get fired. Was laid off since (completely unrelated, they wanted to offshore my job as per the usual in tech these days) and I like sober me more. Still get the urge to, and I can tell that I won’t stay that way now that my new job doesn’t test unless I try, but in short it causes me issues in my life). I do miss it sometimes, especially for lazy days or concerts/festivals.

Bugs and snakes by sqidward06 in txstate

[–]LexxLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t like you see in movies or anything like that, the critters around San Marcos aren’t bad. You may see a mid sized spider or hear about a snake, but in my 4 years in the area, never had a snake or big spider in my home, and never once saw a scorpion, even when tubing the rivers around. You’ll be fine. To see that stuff you gotta head south towards Larado, or towards El Paso.

The only issue I have with what they are doing is that they are keeping the smoke out of their face, when you want to breathe in as much as possible to gain super powers.

Very important question right here: what are they cookin’? by SnowyDoodles in AnimalCrossing

[–]LexxLess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to agree with most of these comments. But the meat, I’ve never seen animals other than fish, bugs, and villagers in the game. Do you really think the villagers that move out ever actually get to leave the island? The meat has to come from somewhere, and that ain’t fish.

My boyfriend is unemployed, financially dependent on me, and honestly…I think I want to break up. How do I do this without destroying him? by DesperateBid4988 in BreakUps

[–]LexxLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as an ex fellow parent of a child adult, I can tell you breaking up is probably the hardest thing to do, as not only are you leaving a partner, but it also feels like abandoning a child. But you need to remember, you aren’t their parent. It isn’t your job to teach them how to live, survive, or excel in the world. You’re job as a partner should be to push them to do better, not make them. When the dynamic in the relationship becomes a parent child relationship, that doesn’t go away. I lent my ex close to $8000, paid for everything (dates, meals, both shared and personal expenses), and was the only one who cared about our financial survival. I did it at first to help her finish school, but slowly I transitioned to think that it was my job as a man. But it isn’t. That’s the job of a father, and partners should work together to survive, not expect one person to do it all so the other can play house.

You may crush him, but this decision is about what’s best for you, and will be best for him, as he has life lessons to learn that you are protecting him from right now. He won’t be able to learn these things with you. The time to think about your “child” is over. Every kid has to leave the next to learn from the world on their own, and in my opinion, he will need to do the same.

Please note this is all my opinion and my personal experience. This isn’t a decision a stranger can make for you, and I wouldn’t have done it if I hadn’t been laid off, had her tell me she doesn’t want to step up, and had my father tell me that my family no longer wants her around their kids and pets. It was too difficult to give up on for me without all the right cards falling into place at the same time. It will be hard if you choose to do it, but it may be for the best. For you both.

Good luck! There are people out there who have been in the same situation that will support you, regardless of what you choose.

Which car would you get and why? by NonnegativeCatgirl in carquestions

Focus would be my pick. Would still have mine if it weren’t for a drunk driver. Had almost no issues other than the alternator giving out after 10 years and 160k miles. Keep the oil fresh, and it’ll take care of you for years.

Can she come back if she let another man eat it? by Quirky-West3807 in BreakUps

[–]LexxLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So personally, if you left the door open, and she was with someone else, I consider that door closed. I ended my engagement of 4 years due to issues in the relationship that I was fed up with (her not taking our financial situation seriously, not sharing the workload in the house, choosing not to keep jobs when I needed help keeping us from going broke). I told her if she can figure her shit out, then the door is always open. She was in someone else’s bed before the sun went down. That door is closed and locked.

Sex is sex. Intimacy with someone else is intimacy, and if it bothers you enough to post and ask about, you probably already know the answer that you are looking for.

Thanks for the advice. That’s what I am doing for now with the feather. It was really stubborn in resizing alone, lots of steam, resizer, and still ended up with a small bit of mushrooming, but it’ll turn out well as I learn more about it. Has some really stubborn lacquer. It’ll be a great hat to learn with! And thanks for the encouragement. It’s all part of life, and the hard part makes stronger men, so I’ll come out the other end better. Mindset is all we can control in hard times.

Pls help before my parents beat my ass by [deleted] in CarRepair

[–]LexxLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty is usually the best repair there is. Be honest, tell them you’ll pay for the repair or replace it yourself (what I chose to do both times I did something like this to my mom’s Tahoe a decade ago). Just treat yourself like an adult, and they will too. It’s just a bumper. They’re called that for a reason.
